The Honolulu Marathon, Hawaii's largest, will celebrate its 44th running with almost 30,000 runners expected to participate. There is also a non-competitive 10K Fun Run/Walk that stats with the marathon, follows the first 6.2 miles of the marathon course and ends at the marathon finish line where participants can wait for their marathon-running friends or family.
Sunday, December 11, 2016. 5:00am Start
All entrants are allowed to finish.
The course starts on Ala Moana Blvd., which means "path by the ocean." The first six miles runs through the commercial part of Waikiki and then heads along the Pacific past Diamond Head through Hawaii Kai and returning back to Kapiolani Park. There is a long gradual hill running past Diamond Head twice.
Expected temperatures range from 70 to 85 degrees. Humidity can be high.
The Marathon Expo is free and open to the public. Bring your friends and family and shop at the Offical Merchandise store and from other exciting vendors. Massages, sports gels, sunglasses and lots more on offer at the Marathon Expo.
