Wed., Sept. 9 Depart U.S. for overnight flights to Bordeaux.
Thu., Sept. 10 - Arrive Bordeaux transfer to the Chateaux Chartrons Hotel for five nights in Bordeaux. Airport transfers are provided for those arriving in the morning or early afternoon. Welcome reception, dinner and briefing.
Fri., Sept. 11 - Morning trip by coach to visit chateaux for wine tastings and cellar tours at such famous vineyards as Chateau D'Alesmes, Chateau Lynch-Bages, Chateau Lascombes or other classified chateaux. Lunch at Chateau Aney. Much of the day will be spent driving on parts of the marathon course. Number pickup in Pauillac. Tonight we enjoy a pre-race dinner in a 500 year-old monastery located on the property of Chateau du Taillon.
Sat., Sept. 12 - Race Day! Transfer to start of Le Marathon des Chateaux du Medoc starting at 9:30am. Don't forget to wear an outrageous costume (95% of the runners do!). Transfer back to hotel in late afternoon. Enjoy a celebration dinner on your own or with new friends at a fine selection of restaurants in Old Bordeaux.
Sun., Sept. 13 - Transfer to the north for 9K recuperation walk with wine tastings at chateaux. A variety of bands and food tastings entertain you. Lunch and celebration with live entertainment. Return in late afternoon to Bordeaux. Dinner on your own.
Mon., Sept. 14 - Morning visit to St. Emilion for a chateaux visit and tasting in this historic appellation. We have a special contact here at one of the best wine shops in Bordeaux. They will offer complimentary tastings and the opportunity to purchase from a wide choice of wines from throughout the region. They offer shipping service for those who want to restock their wine cellars. Afternoon free to enjoy lunch and to explore this 11th century village often referred to as the most beautiful in France. Gala Banquet at Chateau Kirwan in Margaux for our last night.
Tue., Sept. 15 - Transfers to airport for returns flights depart at three times in the morning before 11am or commencement of extended stays as individually requested.
