TWO OCEANS 56K INFORMATION
April 4, 2015
We are pleased to offer one of ultramarathoning's greatest events, the Two Oceans 56K on April 4, 2015 in one of the world's great cities, Cape Town, South Africa. The spectacular course runs from the Atlantic to the Indian Ocean with two long climbs over Chapman's Peak and Constantia Peak. The 56K attracts about 9,000 runners and the 21K hosts another 12,000 half-marathoners.
Cape Town offers a wide variety of sightseeing opportunities. Visit the Cape of Good Hope during a day trip to the tip of Africa where the mighty Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet. Stellenbosch, South Africa's most famous wine appellation, is only a 45 minute drive. How would you like to cage dive with great white sharks?
Kruger National Park in South Africa's northeast corner is famed for some of Africa's most deluxe game resorts on the private land bordering the national park. The guides drive through the bush tracking the big five and providing ample time for photography and a most memorable safari experience.
Thom Gilligan, President of Marathon Tours & Travel, decided to run one ultra marathon. He chose Two Oceans for its scenic beauty, great organization and the local camaraderie that is unique to the South Africa ultramarathon community.
