The course route carves its way through the heart of a shutdown Flinders Chase National Park. Runners are inspired by post-bushfire regenerating flora and fauna, undulating roads and trails, an exposed coastal section with views to the powerful Southern Ocean and a boardwalk leading to the iconic Remarkable Rocks. The race format encourages a spirit of camaraderie amongst runners as they pass by each other throughout the day.

Day 1 - Friday 22 August
Hotel: Mercure Kangaroo Island Lodge
Meals: LunchEarly morning transfer from Adelaide CBD to Cape Jervis, you will collect your baggage and board today’s ferry as a foot passenger. The ferry crossing to Kangaroo Island is approx 45 minutes. On arrival in Penneshaw, your local driver will meet you and transfer you to Mercure Kangaroo Island Lodge. On the way to the Mercure Kangaroo Island Lodge we will stop at Dudley Estate to enjoy the amazing view and have a quick lunch.
Please note that our estimated departure time from Adelaide CBD is 9AM. To avoid missing this bus and ferry connection to the island, we recommend you plan to arrive in Adelaide before 8am or on Thursday 21 August 2025 (Pre-Night Accommodation options can be booked with your package, please contact us for details).
Day 2 - Saturday 23 August
Hotel: Mercure Kangaroo Island Lodge
Highlights: The sights of Kangaroo Island
Meals: Lunch on Tour + Pre-Race DinnerDay Touring – Depart in the morning and return in the afternoon.
Today you will get the chance to see and explore some of Kangaroo Island. Includes: Flinders Chase National Park including race route recon, Remarkable Rocks, Admirals Arch then a visit to the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park.This evening a pre-race meal at the Hotel.
Day 3 - Sunday 24 August RACE DAY!
Hotel: Mercure Kangaroo Island Lodge
Highlights: Kangaroo Island Marathon, Post-race function
Meals: BreakfastAn early continental breakfast has been arranged as we have an early transfer from the Mercure Kangaroo Island Lodge to the Start area at Flinders Chase National Park (approx 70-minute drive). A return transfer will bring you back to the hotel once the runs have been completed.
This afternoon enjoy a post-marathon function
Day 4 - Monday 25 August
Today we have an early morning transfer from the Mercure Kangaroo Island Lodge back to Adelaide, via Cape Jervis. We hope you have enjoyed your weekend!
If you plan to depart Adelaide on Monday afternoon, please arrange your flights after 4pm. There is much more to explore in South Australia if you have time to extend too, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us for suggestions.

RACE DATE: Sunday 24th August 2025
RACE TIME: Marathon 7:30am. Half Marathon 8:00am*
10K 8:30am.
*Half marathon runners must report by 7:00am sharp. Buses depart to the Remarkable Rocks (start line) at 7:15am. Late runners will be transferred to the 10K.

CLIMATE: The weather in Kangaroo Island is mild with an average temperature between 10-17°C.
ENTRY FEE: We can provide entry to the Marathon, Half Marathon or 10km at a special rate when you book a package through Marathon Tours & Travel.
TIME LIMIT: The course time limit is seven (7) hours.
DIFFICULTY: Challenging course with rolling hills and beautiful scenery.
