How close are the hotels to the start or finish line?
We’ve spent the time selecting hotels to elevate your race weekend. Most of our hotels centrally located in Sydney CBD, Darling Harbour, Circular Quay and iconic beach locations, close to public transport options, with many within walking distance of the iconic Sydney Opera House finish line.
Please note, the Start Line is best accessed by local public transport options, and the event will provide a guide on getting to the Start closer to the event date.
How do payments work?
Full Payment is required to confirm your hotel of choice.
If your plans change earlier, please note that Cancellation before the 1st of January 2027, will be subject to a set cancellation fee of AUD $75 per booking.
- Cancellations between 1st of January 2027 and 60 days prior to your arrival date, will be subject to a cancellation fee of 30% of your total booking value,
- Cancellations from 59 to 46 days prior to arrival date, will be subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of your total booking value,
- Cancellations within 45 days prior to your arrival date, will be subject to a cancellation fee of 100% of your total booking value.

Can I make special requests with my hotel reservation?
If you have any special requests or requirements for your stay, please let us know. We will do our best to fulfil your requests, but we can’t guarantee them. Contact us for more information.
Am I able to request extra nights?
You can choose to extend your stay in our Booking Portal by selecting alternative check-in or check-out dates in your initial search.
If you are unable to confirm your preferred dates initially, or wish to amend a confirmed deposited booking, please contact our team for assistance. Please note all requests are subject to availability.
Are any meals included in my stay?
Meals are not included as standard with all Hotel Stays.
If your Booking Confirmation indicates Breakfast is included at your property, please note the style of breakfast also may vary.
For all Runners convenience, a limited early access buffet, or boxed breakfast option, will be included on race day (Sunday).

Can I change my booking?
Please note that any changes once your booking is confirmed may incur an amendment fee, starting from AUD $40.
Changes may include, but are not limited to:
- upgrades,
- adding more guests (limited to the room occupancy limit set by the hotel),
- replacing existing guests,
- changing to another available hotel in our portal.

What do I receive as a Booking Confirmation?
Upon confirmation of your booking, you will receive a Booking Confirmation email from Marathon Tours & Travel, along with a Payment Receipt. This is all that is required for confirmation.
If you contact a property directly once booked with Marathon Tours & Travel, the hotel will not be able to assist with reconfirmation or amendments.

How do I Check-In?
To Check-In for your stay, you only need to present your Marathon Tours & Travel Booking Confirmation, along with your Photo ID (Lead guest Passport or Government issued Identification Card/Drivers License).
If the hotel requires a Bond for your stay, a valid Credit Card should be available in the name of the Lead Guest.
Should you need to change your nominated Lead Guest, please contact us, as this may not be possible within 30 days of arrival.
Do all guests need to be named on my booking confirmation?
Yes, Marathon Tours & Travel’s policy is that anyone staying in a room booked with us, must be named on the guest list.
If you plan to bring family or friends to stay in the room you have booked, they must be named as a guest, and the number of guests may not exceed the occupancy noted for your room type. For example, if there are two of you, the rate would be a double occupancy rate (per person). If you purchase a single occupancy rate package, then only you are allowed in your room.

Is there a minimum length of stay?
Yes, for all Hotels available, the minimum stay you can book is 2 Nights or 3 Nights. If you are unsure if you’ve viewed all Hotel Options, you can change your selected dates in the initial Search Bar, to check for longer stay hotel options.
Please note: Hotels listed under 2 Night or 3 Night search results, cannot be reduced to a shorter stay length.
