Internationally recognised London landmarks also form part of the race’s backdrop – with runners being in eye-shot of Trafalgar Square, the London Eye, Canada House and Buckingham Palace.       Make your own arrangements to arrive at your hotel in London today. Usually, hotel rooms are ready to check in after 3pm. If you arrive early, then you can leave your luggage with the hotel and explore your surroundings while you wait for the room to be ready.

      How do I contact Marathon Tours and Travel staff during my stay?

      Marathon Tours and Travel staff will be available at certain times in the reception area of the hotel. Times and contact numbers will be provided with your final documents and itinerary.

      Race Day

      This is the day you have trained so hard for!

      Take an early breakfast in the hotel before making your way to the race start, which is only a short distance away!

      How do I get to the race start?

      The Royal Parks Half start and finish area is along the south side of Hyde Park. Our hotel Corus Hyde Park is an easy 25 minutes walk away. If you are staying at the Travelodge in Convent Garden, a straightforward tube journey on the piccadilly line will get you to the start in 15 minutes. On arrival at the start please follow the instructions of the race officials.

      After the race, make your way back to the hotel, freshen up, celebrate… You deserve it!

      The Royal Parks Half was created in 2008 and is a spectacular Half Marathon in central London – the first and only one of its kind. The stunning 21km/ 13.1 mile route takes in the capital’s world-famous landmarks on closed roads, and four of London’s eight Royal Parks – Hyde Park, The Green Park, St James’s Park and Kensington Gardens. The 2023 Royal Parks Half Marathon, presented by Royal Bank of Canada will take place on Sunday 8 October.

      This award-winning event was set up as an annual fundraising initiative, raising sustainable funds for the Royal Parks to support London’s eight Royal Parks, and enabling charities of all sizes to be involved in a major challenge event. The event has exceeded all expectation in raising £60 million for over 1,200 UK charities, including the Royal Parks, GOSH, and Mind.

      The Royal Parks as a charity, relies on important donations and events, with the Royal Parks Half being a key source of income for London’s beautiful Royal Parks. Through this event, the money raised helps to keep the magic of the Royal Parks alive through restoring monuments and playgrounds, teaching children about the natural world and caring for wildlife.

      Royal Parks Half Marathon is an extremely popular event and operates a lottery system for entry. Chances of securing a place via the lottery is 1 in 7, the results are usually announced in February. Marathon Tours and Travel is proud to be the Official International Travel Partner for the Royal Parks Half Marathon. As part of a travel package with a hotel stay in London, we offer guaranteed entry to international runners for this sell-out event without the need to enter the ballot. We welcome runners from all countries, except we cannot sell to UK runners.

    • How to Book

      To make your booking, click on the orange button at the top of the page, ensuring that you select the correct number of rooms and types for all members in your party plus all the required extras. When you book, we will require a deposit to confirm your place. You will then be sent an email invite to complete your registration on the Royal Parks Half Marathon website. At this time you will be required to pay a mandatory £4.95 booking fee.

      Payments

      When you confirm your booking, we will take a deposit payment. Subsequent payments are taken automatically. The cost of the event entry is non-refundable.

      Travel Insurance

      Travel insurance is an essential part of any holiday you take, and we highly recommend that you purchase suitable insurance for your trip. You must ensure that your travel insurance policy covers you to participate in running events in the UK.

      Minimum Age

      Only persons who will be aged 17 years or above on the date of the Royal Parks Half Marathon (Sunday 8 October 2023) may register for the Event.

      Conditions of Sale

      Please note we cannot sell race entry without accommodation package and we cannot sell race entries to residents of the UK.

      Entry Procedure

      When you buy your package with us, your entry is included as part of the package. A non-runner reduction will be given to spectators.

      Environmental Policy

      The Royal Parks Half Marathon are committed to delivering as green and sustainable a race as possible, with an aim to reach a net-zero by 2027. At present sixty-six percent of all waste from the event is recycled with further plans being made to do more with every event.
