Arrival Day
Welcome to Sydney!
Make your way from the airport to the hotel and check in. Usually, hotel rooms are ready from 15:00pm, but if you arrive earlier you can leave your luggage at the hotel and explore the surrounding area!
At some point today a representative will be waiting in the lobby to greet you and answer any questions you might have.
Friday 28 August
Half-Day Sightseeing Tour & Sydney Harbour Cruise
This morning after breakfast enjoy our half-day sightseeing bus tour concluding at King Street Wharf, from here we will board a 90-minute boat cruise where you will enjoy the beauty of the harbour as you look back onto the Sydney skyline! The cruise will include substantial canapes and a drink on arrival.
This evening is free for you to explore and enjoy one of the many restaurants in Sydney!

Saturday 29 August
Shake-Out Run & Pre-Race Dinner
This morning after breakfast join your hosts for a light shake-out run around the local area. This will be at an easy pace and is a chance to loosen your legs. It will be no longer than 5km (approx. 3 miles).
Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.
Consider booking the Bridge Climb, a hop-on hop-off pass or even a day tour to experience more of this wonderful city.
This evening we will enjoy a private pre-race dinner in the Ballroom at the Sheraton hotel!

Sunday 30 August
Race Day!
Race day is here! After an early breakfast, make your way to the start line. Our representatives will be in the hotel lobby to provide guidance.
After the race, recharge in the recovery zone before making your own way back to the hotel.
In the evening we’ll meet up for post-race celebrations at the Sheraton, to say cheers to all of our runners on an amazing accomplishment!

Unless you have booked extra nights with us then today is the day you check out of your room and we say thank you for joining us.

The itinerary below reflects the Sydney Marathon Prestige Package.
Upon arrival at Sydney International Airport (SYD), you will be met and transferred to the luxurious Park Hyatt, located on the very edge of Sydney Harbour with front-row seats to the world-famous Opera House. In the evening, join your MTT hosts and fellow travellers for a sunset cruise, welcoming you to “The Harbour City.”
Thursday 27 August
Following breakfast, embark on a guided tour to discover Sydney’s iconic charm. Today is yours to enjoy the sights and experiences of Sydney at your leisure. In the evening, join us for a Pre-Race Dinner with your fellow runners and MTT hosts.

Sunday 30 August
Race Day! After an early breakfast, runners will be transferred to the starting line of the TCS Sydney Marathon. Your day unfolds along a scenic course showcasing Sydney’s most iconic landmarks and breath taking coastal views. Whether you’re running or cheering from the side-lines, soak up the electric race-day atmosphere and the incredible community spirit that fills the city. Transfer from the finish line to the hotel will be arranged for runners.
In the evening, celebrate your achievement with fellow runners and supporters at our Post-Race Reception held at a nearby restaurant. Enjoy a selection of canapés and one (1) complimentary drink as we toast your accomplishment!

You will explore the attractions of New Zealand’s largest city, starting your tour in downtown Auckland and admire the views of the harbour and the city skyline as you make your way towards the Auckland Harbour Bridge. After breakfast, join your MTT hosts to walk down to the Auckland’s Viaduct to board your private charter to Waiheke Island to enjoy a day on the beautiful Waiheke Island. Hobbiton Day Tour – $185 per person
Your tour starts with a private coach journey from the hotel to Hobbiton based in the Waikato region. Your guide will escort you through the twelve acre site recounting fascinating details of how the Hobbiton Movie set was created. Today you will experience the natural wonder of New Zealand’s South Island on this day of discovery. Enjoy a coach journey to Milford Sound, regarded as one of the Natural Wonders of the world. Cruise on the Sound, enjoy a buffet lunch and weather permitting, return to Queenstown by plane, enjoying views of the spectacular Southern Alps. The evening is yours to explore the many wonderful restaurants in Queenstown.

Wednesday 2nd September
This morning, you will enjoy a scenic safari 4WD tour offering breathtaking mountain and forest views along the shore of Lake Wakatipu towards Glenorchy and the Paradise Valley.
This evening, step into Queenstown’s rich pioneering past. Your experience begins with a scenic cruise across Lake Wakatipu aboard the historic TSS Earnslaw, a century-old steamship. Upon arrival, you’ll disembark at Walter Peak High Country Farm, one of the region’s earliest established farms, for an immersive glimpse into rural life. Here you will enjoy a dining experience that’s unlike any other in Queenstown, relax in the unique ambience in front of a roaring open fire and soak in the views from this stunning lakeside setting while the chefs prepare a gourmet BBQ on the outdoor grill. Marathon Tours & Travel’s policy is that anyone staying in our room block must be part of our package. If you plan to bring a spouse or guest, they must purchase our package. For example, if there are two of you, the rate would be the double occupancy rate (per person). If you purchase a single occupancy rate package, then only you are allowed in your room. To attend any of our activities, you must be part of our package.

Enter the 2026 TCS Sydney Marathon with Marathon Tours & Travel
Experience the TCS Sydney Marathon 2026 with us! Our package takes care of you so you can enjoy the event, sightseeing and make the most of this spectacular destination ‘down under’.
The Course
The TCS Sydney Marathon 2026 will start across the harbour at Milsons Point, crosses the Sydney Harbour Bridge, runs through the city streets, out to the green parks in the suburbs and back to finish in front of the Sydney Opera House. Whilst it’s not a completely flat route the marathon is still considered fast and very runner and spectator friendly. The time limit for this marathon is 7 hours. All the races start and cross over the Sydney Harbour Bridge and finish in front of the Sydney Opera House, except the Fun Run which ends at the Royal Botanic Gardens. Starting Times and Bib Numbers
Although we are licensed to sell official entries for the 2026 TCS Sydney Marathon, we have no influence over the allocation of starting times and bib numbers.
Closer to the event we will ask for your expected pace and other details to complete the registration process for the TCS Sydney Marathon. The race organisers will allocate you a starting time and bib based on the information you provide.
