Cardiff Half Marathon
The Cardiff Half Marathon has grown into one of the largest and most exciting road races in the United Kingdom and is truly a Race For Everyone. It is now one of Europe’s largest half marathons and is Wales’ largest mass participation and multi-charity fundraising event.
The event has grown significantly since it was founded in 2003 when 1,500 runners took part. It now attracts a mass race field of over 27,500 registered runners alongside world-class athletes in a trio of fiercely contested men’s, women’s and wheelchair elite races.
Its flat, fast course passes all of the city’s most breath-taking scenery and iconic landmarks including Cardiff Castle, the Principality Stadium, Civic Centre and stunning Cardiff Bay.
Thousands of spectators turn out to cheer on the runners in a city renowned for its sporting passion. Cardiff is a lively capital city offering unique attractions, world-class sports stadiums, vibrant entertainment, waterside eateries and seemingly endless parkland.
Cardiff is a part of the SuperHalfs. Finishing the race will earn you a stamp in your Super Passport and count towards completing the series of races in Lisbon, Prague, Berlin, Copenhagen and Valencia.

Depending on the length of stay you have booked with us you might arrive before or depart on different days to the following itinerary.
Cardiff is fascinating with plenty to see and do. The itinerary below reflects the 3 nights package. Adding extra nights is recommended and allows you the time to enjoy the city.
Arrival Day, Welcome & Shake-out Run.
Make your own arrangements to arrive at the hotel in Cardiff today. Usually, hotel rooms are ready to check in after 15:00. If you arrive earlier, you can leave your luggage with the hotel and explore your surroundings.
You are free to enjoy the city at your leisure. If you wish to visit the Event Village to collect your race registration pack, please do so (instructions will be provided with the final itinerary).
Marathon Tours & Travel hosts will be available in your hotel today to meet and answer any questions you might have.
This evening we invite you to join your Marathon Tours & Travel host and your running peers for an easy shake-out run from the hotel. It will acquaint you with the local area and shake-out any travel tiredness. The run will be easy and at a pace comfortable for all fitness levels. Afterwards please join us for a drink; a perfect opportunity to ask questions and get to know your fellow runners.
Saturday 2 October 2027
Event Village & Pasta Dinner
This morning we will escort you to the Event Village to collect your race registration pack. However, if you wish to make your own way there in your own time, instructions will be provided with the final itinerary. Your race pack must be collected before the registration closes prior to the race. The rest of the day is at your leisure. The Marathon Tours & Travel team will be happy to suggest some sightseeing options.
Often restaurants are booked up early, but you do not need to worry about finding somewhere to carb-load this evening as you can join your Marathon Tours & Travel host for a delicious and nutritious pre-race pasta dinner at our hotel or a venue close by.

Race Day & Celebrations!
Breakfast will be available early. Those taking part in the Cardiff Half Marathon 2027 will easily be able to walk to the start from our hotel. Your Marathon Tours & Travel host will be happy to escort runners to the start area, or you can follow the directions provided to make your own way, in your own time. From the hotel it’s a straightforward 10 minute walk to start area (Cardiff Castle, Castle Street). Please leave plenty of extra time to make your way through the crowds. On arrival at the start please follow the instructions of the race officials, run and have fun!
After the race make your way back to the hotel, freshen up and celebrate…you deserve it!
This evening meet your Marathon Tours & Travel host, fellow runners and supporters for a post-race celebration and drink! More details will be provided on the final itinerary.

Enter the Cardiff Half Marathon 2027 with Marathon Tours & Travel
Recognised as one of the world’s most prestigious half marathons, this event holds the World Athletics Elite Label and is part of the acclaimed SuperHalfs series across Europe. The course winds through the heart of the Welsh capital, offering an unforgettable atmosphere. Run alongside the stars of world athletics and chase your next personal best.
Course: The race starts at Cardiff Castle (Castle Street), finishing at Civic Centre (King Edward VII Avenue). The course is a flat, fast loop of the city.
Race Time: from 10:00am
Minimum Pace/Cut-off Time Policy: 4 hours
Eligibility: Marathon Tours & Travel, an authorised tour operator, is required to offer travel arrangements in conjunction with guaranteed race entry. All runners must be born in the year 2010 or earlier to participate in the Cardiff Half Marathon 2027.

Number Pick up: You must pick up your race bib and packet at the Cardiff Half Marathon Event Village prior to race day.

How to book during the pre-booking before package release stage
To pre-register, click on the book now button, ensuring that you select the correct number of runners. Please read all the important information. If you have any questions please contact us.
Whilst we expect this event to take place on the date shown, the exact date will only be announced later. Do not book any flights until confirmed details are known and we have advised you of the package choices.
How to book after package options are released
Our team will contact you, advise package choices with prices and invite you to booking a specific package. At this stage you will need to select the correct number of rooms and types for all members in your party plus all the required extras. When you book, we will require a further deposit.
Payments
When you confirm your booking, we will take a deposit payment. Subsequent payments are taken automatically.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend travellers to take out comprehensive travel insurance with sufficient healthcare cover. Make sure that you are insured for existing medical conditions, any activities you plan to do and any equipment that you plan to take. Security Policy
Marathon Tours & Travel’s security policy requires that anyone staying in our room block must be registered as part of our package. If a registered client attempts to house a non-registered guest and/or invite them to attend any of our scheduled activities, the registered guest’s tour package will be forfeited and parties may be denied access to future tours. Please note that no exceptions will be made as this policy will be strictly enforced.
Race Rules
Our itinerary and details regarding the race are based on current information available at the time this package was released for sale. Whilst we expect the details to remain correct, changes are possible and will be confirmed nearer to the trip after the race organisers have confirmed final instructions. All race rules and procedures need to be followed.
Starting Pens and Bib Numbers
Although we are licensed to sell official entries for the Cardiff Half Marathon 2027, we have no influence over the allocation of starting times and bib numbers. After purchasing your race entry with us, you will be sent a link to complete the registrations process. Please do not expect it immediately after booking – it will be sent when Cardiff Half Marathon send the links to us. The race organisers will allocate you a starting time and bib based on the information you provide.
