At its core is the iconic Hackney Half, which sold out in just two days this year marking its fourth consecutive sell-out. But the excitement doesn’t stop there. The whole weekend is packed with inclusive events like the free Community 5K, the Schools’ Challenge, a high-energy Fitness Festival, and a vibrant Event Village on Hackney Marshes.
It’s more than just a race, it’s a landmark moment in London’s running calendar, bringing people together in motion, music, and community.

Make your own arrangements to arrive at the Mama Shelter London today. Usually, hotel rooms are ready to check in after 14:00. If you arrive earlier, you can leave your luggage with the hotel and explore your surroundings.
You are free to enjoy the city at your leisure.
Marathon Tours & Travel host will be available in your hotel today to meet and answer any questions you might have.
Tonight at around 18:00, meet your MTT host and fellow runners in the hotel bar for a welcome drink – first one’s on us!

This morning at around 08:00, we will gather in the hotel lobby before departing for an easy 5km shakeout run!
The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure. We recommend heading to Hackney Marshes for the vibrant race festival, featuring live music, community events, and a lively festival village full of activities and entertainment
If you’ve signed up for the pre-race dinner, join your MTT host and fellow runners at the hotel restaurant around 19:00 this evening. It’s a great chance to fuel up, connect, and get excited for race day!

Race Day and Departure Day
An early breakfast will be available this morning. The race start is located at the Hackney Marshes, your Marathon Tours & Travel host will be happy to escort runners to the start area or you can follow the directions provided to make your own way, in your own time. To reach the start area from the hotel, take the number 26 bus towards Hackney Wick. Board at Pritchard’s Road and ride for 10 stops, alighting at St Mary of Eton Church. From there, Hackney Marshes are just a short 5-minute walk away.
Unless you have booked extra nights please check out of your room before leaving for the race this morning. We recommend you extend your stay with us at Mama Shelter London so you can continue your celebrations and join us for a drink with your fellow runners this evening.

Enter the Hackney Half Marathon 2026 with Marathon Tours & Travel
The Hackney Half Marathon is a 13.1-mile race held in East London, celebrated for its lively and inclusive atmosphere. The course is flat and fast, making it ideal for runners chasing personal bests as well as those tackling their first half marathon. As part of the Hackney Moves festival, the event highlights the borough’s vibrant culture, passing through iconic landmarks, green parks, and streets filled with live music, street art, and entertainment. The race culminates in a festive finish line celebration at Hackney Marshes, creating a memorable experience for all participants.
Course: Start and finish in the heart of the Hackney Marshes. The course winds through iconic areas like Hackney Central, London Fields, Victoria Park, and Hackney Wick, showcasing street art and local culture, with live music and entertainment provided along the way.
Race Time: from 09:00am
Minimum Pace/Cut-off Time Policy: 3 hours 30 minutes
Eligibility: Marathon Tours & Travel, an authorised tour operator, is required to offer travel arrangements in conjunction with guaranteed race entry. All runners must be born in the year 2009 or earlier to participate in the Hackney Half Marathon 2026.

Please note we cannot sell race entry without accommodation package. Race entry is not refundable.

Payments
When you confirm your booking, we will take a deposit payment. Subsequent payments are taken automatically.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend travellers to take out comprehensive travel insurance with sufficient healthcare cover. Make sure that you are insured for existing medical conditions, any activities you plan to do and any equipment that you plan to take. Travel insurance covers you if anything doesn’t go to plan before you travel as well, so we recommend sorting it at the time of booking. For more information, click here.
Security Policy
Marathon Tours & Travel’s security policy requires that anyone staying in our room block must be registered as part of our package. If a registered client attempts to house a non-registered guest and/or invite them to attend any of our scheduled activities, the registered guest’s tour package will be forfeited and parties may be denied access to future tours. Please note that no exceptions will be made as this policy will be strictly enforced.
Race Rules
Our itinerary and details regarding the race are based on current information available at the time this package was released for sale. Whilst we expect the details to remain correct, changes are possible and will be confirmed nearer to the trip after the race organisers have confirmed final instructions. All race rules and procedures need to be followed.
Starting Pens and Bib Numbers
Although we are licensed to sell official entries for the Hackney Half Marathon 2026, we have no influence over the allocation of starting times and bib numbers. After purchasing your race entry with us, you will be sent a link to complete the registrations process. Please do not expect it immediately after booking – it will be sent when Hackney Half Marathon send the links to us. The race organisers will allocate you a starting time and bib based on the information you provide.
