The course route carves its way through the heart of a shutdown Flinders Chase National Park. Runners are inspired by post-bushfire regenerating flora and fauna, undulating roads and trails, an exposed coastal section with views to the powerful Southern Ocean and a boardwalk leading to the iconic Remarkable Rocks. The race format encourages a spirit of camaraderie amongst runners as they pass by each other throughout the day.

Thursday 21 August
Hotel: Pullman Hotel Adelaide
Meals: Welcome Dinner at Hotel
Highlights: Walking tour of the AdelaideArrive in Adelaide and make your own arrangements to transfer to Pullman Hotel Adelaide
This afternoon we take a guided Adelaide Tour including local guide. Tonight we will enjoy an early welcome Dinner at the Hotel PARC Restaurant.
** Please note: Taxi or Car Share options from Adelaide Airport to Pullman Hotel Adelaide are approximately $30 AUD one-way.
Friday 22 August
Hotel: Ozone Hotel Kangaroo Island
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Highlights: Visit to Dudley Wines, Ferry CrossingAfter breakfast we depart the hotel by coach, to the ferry terminal at Cape Jervis (approx. 90 min drive). We’ll board the ferry to Kangaroo Island (approx. 40 min crossing). Our transport will collect us at the island terminal and travel to Dudley Wines for a wine tasting and pizza lunch, whilst enjoying stunning views back onto the mainland. After lunch we will depart to the Ozone Hotel which will be our accommodation for the next 3 nights.
This evening you will enjoy a Welcome to Kangaroo Island dinner – 2 courses of local ingredients and a glass of local wine.
Saturday 23 August
Hotel: Ozone Hotel Kangaroo Island
Meals: Breakfast, Picnic Lunch and Pre-Race Dinner
Highlights: Sights of Kangaroo Island Tour (Depart morning and return afternoon).Today you will get the chance to see and explore some of Kangaroo Island’s iconic sights, including a recon drive of Sunday’s race route in Flinders Chase National Park, Remarkable Rocks, Admirals Arch and a visit to the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park. A stop for lunch will be included.
This evening we have a pre-race meal at the Hotel.
Sunday 24 August RACE DAY!
Hotel: Ozone Hotel Kangaroo Island
Meals: Post-race function at the Ozone Hotel
Highlights: Kangaroo Island Marathon / Half MarathonAn early continental breakfast has been arranged as we have an early transfer from the Ozone Hotel Kingscote to the Start area at Flinders Chase National Park (approx. 80-minute drive). A return transfer will bring you back to the hotel once the events have been completed.
This afternoon enjoy a post-marathon function.
Monday 25 August
Hotel: Pullman Hotel Adelaide
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Highlights: Visit McLaren Vale Wine RegionWe say goodbye to Kangaroo Island today as we head back to the mainland. After breakfast, you will be transferred by coach to the ferry crossing. Back on the mainland, we board our onward transport for a visit to the McLaren Vale Wine Region, for tasting and a private lunch at a winery.
After lunch transfer back to Adelaide.
Tuesday 26 August
Hotel: Pullman Hotel Adelaide
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch,
Highlights: Visit the Barossa Valley Wine Region, home of the world-renowned Shiraz WineToday we include a full-day exploring the world-renowned Barossa Valley. You will have a chance to sample of the regions fine wines and culture. The afternoon includes a Barossa Valley tasting, followed by lunch at winery and transfers back to our Adelaide Hotel.
This evening is at leisure.
Wednesday 27 August
Hotel: Pullman Hotel Adelaide
Meals: Breakfast, Farewell Dinner,
Highlights: Visit the Cleland Wildlife Park and HarndorfToday we visit the Adelaide Hills, starting off at Cleland Wild Life Park where you can get up close and hand-feed many native animals. In the second half of the day, we visit the German Town of Harndorf where you’ll have the chance to explore this quaint town. Finally, we return to the Pullman for our farewell dinner
Thursday 28 August
After breakfast, we transport you to Adelaide Airport for your onward flight.

Marathon Tours & Travel’s policy is that anyone staying in our room block must be part of our package. If you plan to bring a spouse or guest, they must purchase our package. For example, if there are two of you, the rate would be the double occupancy rate (per person). If you purchase a single occupancy rate package, then only you are allowed in your room. To attend any of our activities, you must be part of our package.

- Marathon – 7:30am
- Half Marathon – 8:00am*
- 10K – 8:30am
*Half marathon runners must report by 7:00am sharp. Buses depart to the Remarkable Rocks (start line) at 7:15am. Late runners will be transferred to the 10K.

ENTRY FEE: We can provide entry to the Marathon, Half Marathon or 10km at a special rate when you book a package through Marathon Tours & Travel.
