The TCS London Marathon 2025 returns on Sunday 27 April 2025. Already breaking world records for the highest number of entry lottery registrations, this Abbott World Marathon Majors event is set to bring tens of thousands of people to the streets of London, once again, to race one of the world’s most prestigious marathons.
The event prides itself on welcoming all runners and visitors to London to take on the 26.2 mile/42km route that takes in some of London’s most iconic landmarks, culminating in the finish straight along the Mall in front of Buckingham Palace. You’ll also experience the amazing crowd support along the route.

Marathon Tours & Travel are delighted to partner with the event organisers as the Official Participant Hotel Provider of the TCS London Marathon 2025. For UK or international runners who have already secured their event entry, we are offering hotel accommodation of varying standards and in selected areas of London that are ideal for accessing the start and finish of the race for stays of one, two or more nights and with the expert support of the Marathon Tours & Travel team in London. If you’d like to make more of your stay in the capital, why not stay an extra night or two and do some exploring while you’re there?

Arrival Day
Depending on the length of stay you have booked with us you might arrive on the Friday 25 April or Saturday 26 April and depart on either Sunday 27 April or Monday 28 April (or later if you decide to add extra nights on to explore the area).
London has plenty to offer when it comes to things to see and do. Our accommodation options allow you to choose whether you stay in the West End, close to the finish; London city with access to central London sights, the TCS London Marathon Running Show (Expo) and good transport links to the start; or closer to the race start in Greenwich.
Make your own arrangements to arrive at your hotel in London. Usually, hotel rooms are ready to check in after 2pm. If you arrive early, then you can leave your luggage with the hotel and head to the TCS London Marathon Running Show (Expo) to collect your entry pack, explore your local surroundings or head out for a shake-out run while you wait for the room to be ready. The days are yours to enjoy. London has so many sightseeing options and places to visit, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Maybe take in an open-top bus tour or explore under your own steam before preparing for Sunday’s race.
Race Day
The TCS London Marathon 2025 starts in Greenwich and finishes along the Mall in front of Buckingham Palace. The event starts at around 09:00am with the Elite Wheelchairs, followed by the Elite Women at 09:25am, then the Elite Men at 10:00am. Other runners will start after these times in specific waves and from different coloured Start Areas to avoid congestion at the beginning of the race.
How to get there
We recommend travelling to the start and back from the finish on foot or by using public transport. We strongly discourage driving to the event due to the extensive road closures which will be operating along the route. Please refer to the TCS London Marathon website for more information on how to get there.
The easiest way to travel to the start of the TCS London Marathon 2025 is to use the London Underground system or the SouthEastern rail network. The nearest London Underground station is Greenwich, located on the DLR (teal & white) line. Other start areas are accessible from either Maze Hill or Blackheath railway stations (SouthEastern Rail network) from Westminster, Waterloo or London Bridge. More information to come when start areas are confirmed.
Please note that we do not recommend spectators going to the Start Line as it will be very busy and there are no good vantage points to see runners. Instead, why not go to the city centre for the best views and to soak up the atmosphere with the other thousands of spectators?

Arrival Day & Welcome Reception
Make your way to London and on arrival check in to your hotel. Hotel rooms are usually ready after 3pm; if you arrive earlier, you can leave your luggage with the hotel concierge and explore the city and surrounds. Marathon Tours & Travel hosts will be available in your hotel today to meet and answer any questions you might have.
Tomorrow we will have a private coach to the Expo but if you wish to visit the TCS London Marathon Running Show (Expo) and collect your bib number today detailed directions using public transport will be provided in your final itinerary.
In the early evening, we invite you to meet the Marathon Tours & Travel host and your running peers to enjoy a Welcome Reception with drinks and canapés.
Saturday 26 April 2025
TCS London Marathon Expo by private coach & Pasta Dinner
This morning we will depart by private coach from the hotel to the TCS London Marathon Running Show (Expo). The TCS London Marathon Expo has plenty to see and do, so we will allow time to collect your race documents, shop from the many exhibitors, listen to the experts and enjoy the pre-race vibe before returning to the hotel. If you prefer to return on our private coach at the given time or by public transport, the choice is yours.
The Marathon Tours & Travel team will be available at our dedicated booth at the TCS London Marathon Running Show (Expo) today to answer any questions you might have.
Often restaurants are booked up early, but you do not need to worry about finding somewhere to carb-load this evening as the Marathon Tours & Travel team host a delicious and nutritious pre-race pasta dinner.

TCS London Marathon 2025 & Celebrations
This is the day you have trained so hard for! After an early breakfast, please get ready to leave the hotel for the race start in Greenwich.
The Marathon Tours & Travel private coaches will depart at 07:30am (time TBC) and take you directly to the start area, relaxed and ready to run.
Family and friends can travel by public transport to support and spectate along the race route. The Marathon Tours & Travel host will be happy to advise.
After the race make your way back to the hotel, freshen up, relax and gaze at your lovely new shiny medal…you worked hard for it!
This evening join your Marathon Tours & Travel host, fellow runners and supporters to celebrate your achievement with a post-race celebration reception with drinks and canapés! More details will be advised on the final itinerary.

How to Book
To make your booking, click on the book now button, ensuring that you select the correct number of rooms and types for all members in your party plus all the required extras. When you book, we will require a deposit to confirm your place.

Security Policy
Marathon Tours & Travel’s security policy requires that anyone staying in our room block must be registered as part of our package. If a registered client attempts to house a non-registered guest and/or invite them to attend any of our scheduled activities, the registered guest’s tour package will be forfeited and parties may be denied access to future tours. Please note that no exceptions will be made as this policy will be strictly enforced.
