2027 Totalsports TWO OCEANS MARATHON powered by BYD – Race Entry

The Entry-Only option includes your choice of race entry. This means there is no on-site support from the Marathon Tours & Travel team or anything else, its simply entry to the race. Once you have booked your entry-only, you will receive an access code and instructions to register your data and complete the entry on the event website. At this point all future communication will be directly between yourself and the race organisers.

The Package-with-Entry is an all-in experience package that includes 4 or more nights’ accommodation and a host of inclusions and support to ensure you are well looked after. Those who book this package will have the assurance that logistics will be taken care of, so you can enjoy the weekends activities with the support of the local Marathon Tours & Travel team.

We offer the option to add race entry to our packages, or you can purchase race entry only. Entry with package is a lower price and guaranteed availability. Entry only is limited availability.

The Package-with-Entry includes hotels in central Cape Town V&A Waterfront area. Whilst not walking distance, the packages include transport to/from the start and finish areas. Without traffic the journey time is 20 minutes, however as with any race traffic on race day can be much busier and a longer journey could be possible. Public transport is not reliable so having the exclusive transport with Marathon Tours & Travel is easy, convenient, stress-free and invaluable.

The Totalsports TWO OCEANS MARATHON powered by BYD is known as “The World’s Most Beautiful Marathon.” Runners experience a unique course inspired by the meeting of two oceans, creating a race day experience that is as memorable as it is challenging. Set against the spectacular backdrop of Cape Town, the Totalsports TWO OCEANS MARATHON powered by BYD takes runners through breathtaking coastal and mountain scenery, delivering one of the world’s most iconic and picturesque running experiences.

The 21.1km Half Marathon starts and finishes at the University of Cape Town (UCT) and follows a fast but hilly route through Cape Town’s southern suburbs. The course typically passes through UCT, Rhodes Drive, M3 corridor, Newlands, Claremont, Rondebosch, Return to UCT.

The famous 56km Ultra Marathon is what gives the event its global reputation. The route starts in the Cape Town southern suburbs near UCT. After that it heads south through Muizenberg and Fish Hoek, climbs Chapman’s Peak Drive, one of the most spectacular coastal roads in the world. Continuing on through Hout Bay, it tackles Constantia Nek, the major climb of the race and returns through Constantia and the southern suburbs finishing at UCT.

For the 2027 Totalsports TWO OCEANS MARATHON powered by BYD, the cut-off times are:

Ultra Marathon (56km): 7 hours from your batch’s gun start time. There are also intermediate route cut-offs at key points, including around Constantia Nek and the marathon mark.

Half Marathon (21.1km): 3 hours 30 minutes.

Ultra Marathon (56km)

Yes. All Ultra Marathon entrants must meet the event’s qualifying requirements.

A qualifying time must be achieved in a World Athletics (WA) affiliated marathon or race longer than 42.2km, provided the event is officially measured and officially timed.

For runners targeting the Totalsports Two Oceans Ultra Marathon powered by BYD, the qualifying window runs from 1 May 2026 until 7 March 2027 (23:59).

Please note that achieving a qualifying time alone is not sufficient. You must also upload and submit your qualifying result via the Profile section of the EasyReg portal no later than 11:59pm on 7 March 2027. Any qualifying times not submitted by this deadline may not be considered.

Half Marathon (21.1km)

No. There is no qualification requirement for the Half Marathon.

However, all entrants are required to submit a recent race performance. This time will be used by the organisers to determine your seeding and starting batch on race day.

Half Marathon entrants are reminded that the Seeding Time Submission Deadline is 28 February 2027 (midnight). Runners must submit an official 10km, 15km or 21.1km race time by this date to ensure they are assigned to the appropriate start batch on race day.

After purchasing your race entry through Marathon Tours & Travel, you will receive a registration link and access code to complete your race registration.

Please note that these are not sent immediately after booking. Registration links and codes are distributed once they have been provided to us by the Totalsports TWO OCEANS MARATHON powered by BYD organisers. As soon as we receive them, we will send them on to you with full instructions and your booking has been verified as per our T&Cs.

Your starting batch, bib number and seeding will be allocated by the race organisers based on the information submitted during registration.
