The Greek Odyssey Half‑Marathon & 10K Five‑Night Package blends a spectacular destination race with an immersive journey through Greece’s Peloponnese—featuring ancient landmarks, coastal scenery and authentic local experiences.
Based at the luxurious Westin Costa Navarino, the itinerary is carefully paced to balance exploration, recovery and celebration. Guests may choose from optional guided visits to Ancient Olympia, culinary and cultural activities, or simply relax and prepare for race day. The experience culminates with a memorable race finish in Pylos Main Square, followed by a festive celebration and post‑race party.
The Pylos–Messenia region you’ll explore is also the backdrop for an upcoming feature film inspired by Homer’s Odyssey. From coastal fortresses to ancient landscapes, you’ll be immersed in the same timeless settings now capturing the world’s imagination on screen.
Short on time? Guests looking for a streamlined experience may also join our Three‑Night Race Package (Thursday–Sunday), featuring the same race festivities, pre‑race dinner, finish‑line celebration and resort experience as the five‑night program on those days.

Tuesday 10 November
Today your Greece experience continues! A private coach bus transfer is planned for a morning departure (09:00am) from the Olympic Royal Hotel (and/or nearby hotel) to the five-star Westin Resort, Costa Navarino in the Peloponnese region. En route our first short rest stop will be at the Corinth Canal (approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes drive). Here you will have a photo opportunity of the dramatic 19th-century canal carved through solid rock that connects the Aegean Sea and Ionian Sea. We will continue on our way with a lunch stop at a local Greek restaurant around 12:30pm before arriving at your luxury hotel around 15:00. After checking-in and getting settled, the rest of the day is free to explore the grounds and utilise the hotel amenities.
If you are arriving into Athens this morning at the Athens International Airport (ATH), a private transfer to the Costa Navarino Hotel can be arranged (additional charge is applicable). A group transfer will be arranged if there is enough interest (additional charge is applicable).
The evening is free to enjoy dinner on your own.
Wednesday 11 November
Following breakfast, you will have two options to choose from that are included in your package. When reserving your package, you will be asked to select your choice. This is required for planning purposes.
Castle Olive Oil Tour with lunch. Explore a 13th-century castle surrounded by olive trees and enjoy panoramic views of endless olive groves while learning about the area’s history and local gastronomy. Visit a modern, traditional olive oil mill and discover how Greek olive oil has been produced over the past 3,000 years, including its quality characteristics. Participate in an olive oil tasting workshop led by a certified professional. Taste three different extra virgin olive oil varieties and learn how to identify high-quality olive oil. Enjoy olive oil food pairings with local products and discover how different varieties enhance different flavours. Your lunch will be served family style at the olive oil mill facility with hosted house wine and mineral water.
Half day hike in Navarino Bay with picnic lunch. Explore the most important nature and historical parts of the Navarino Bay area including Voidokilia Beach and Nestor’s Cave, two filming locations of The Odyssey. An experienced hiking guide will accompany the group. Please note that all participants must be able to easily hike up to four miles. Although an easy to moderate route, there is an uphill climb and steep descent; the terrain is a combination of dirt, sand and rocky sections. A picnic lunch will be provided (all guests must carry with them). Estimated total time is five hours including a break for lunch.
Upon returning to the Westin Costa Navarino, the rest of the day and evening are free to enjoy on your own.

Thursday 12 November
Following breakfast, guests on the five-night package will enjoy a full day tour to Ancient Olympia, which is less than a two hour drive away. Your tour includes a four course lunch, entrance fees and a local licensed English speaking guide on-site. We will visit the archaeological site of ancient Olympia with the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Stadium and Archaeological Museum. Following lunch, we will make our way back to the Westin Costa Navarino Hotel.
This evening join us for a Welcome Reception where you can mix and mingle with your fellow runners, companions and hosts.

Friday 13 November
Join us today as we explore some of the main places in the Peloponnese Region where the 2026 Odyssey was filmed. This includes the Pylos Castle and the Methoni Castle. The 25-minute drive will also allow you to see the finish of your Greek Odyssey Half-Marathon or 10KM event! This is a half-day tour that will have you back in ample time to relax before our pre-race dinner at the Westin Costa Navarino.

Saturday 14 November
Race Day!
Both half-marathon and 10KM runners will be transferred to your start area. All will finish together in the main public square of Pylos called Trion Navarchon (also known as Three Admirals’ Square). Upon completing your race and enjoying the finisher area, runners and supporters will be transferred back to the Westin Costa Navarino where you can enjoy lunch (on your own) and a relaxing afternoon. Tonight we will gather at the Westin Costa Navarino for a post-race celebration party.

Thursday 12 November
Today your Greece experience begins! A private coach bus is planned for a 13:00 departure from the Athens Airport to the Westin Costa Navarino Hotel. Please coordinate your arrival flight accordingly (i.e. arriving no later than 10:30am) allowing for time to go through passport control, collect your luggage and pass through customs. Private airport transfers to the hotel are also an option for an additional charge.
En route you will have a short rest stop at the Corinth Canal, a dramatic 19th-century canal carved through solid rock that connects the Aegean Sea and Ionian Sea. You can expect to arrive at the Westin Costa Navarino around 17:30. After checking into your room and spending time getting refreshed, join us for our official Greek Odyssey Half-Marathon & 10K Welcome Reception.

Flights:
For the Greek Odyssey Package you need to arrive and depart from Eleftherios Venizelos Airport in Athens. The Airport Code is ATH. Please note that the five-night package is an ideal extension for those running the Athens Marathon. The group transfer on 10 November will be from the Royal Olympic Hotel, host of our Athens Marathon package.

Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend travellers to take out comprehensive travel insurance with sufficient healthcare cover. Make sure that you are insured for existing medical conditions, any activities you plan to do and any equipment that you plan to take. Security Policy
Marathon Tours & Travel’s security policy requires that anyone staying in our room block must be registered as part of our package. If a registered client attempts to house a non-registered guest and/or invite them to attend any of our scheduled activities, the registered guest’s tour package will be forfeited and parties may be denied access to future tours. Please note that no exceptions will be made as this policy will be strictly enforced.
Race Rules and Terms of Participation
Our itinerary and details regarding the race are based on current information available at the time this package was released for sale. Whilst we expect the details to remain correct, changes are possible and will be confirmed nearer to the trip after the race organisers have confirmed final instructions.
