Arrive in Sydney and transfer on your own to the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth Hotel. Upon arrival, join us for a welcome brunch and Q&A briefing from 08:00am – 11:00am where you will meet fellow travellers and your MTT Hosts.   

We recommend using your free afternoon to visit the Sydney Running Show, where you will pick up your race kits before exploring the local neighbourhoods in Sydney.

Today you will enjoy an unforgettable VIP Sydney half-day sightseeing tour. This tailored quintessential Sydney tour is the best way to absorb Sydney’s big icons and highlights and give you a personal introduction to the vibrant city. From the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House to the Royal Botanic Gardens and Bondi Beach, this unique tour will immerse you in much more than just the highlights, allowing you to connect from a local’s perspective, in true Australian style.  At the conclusion of the tour (approximately 12:00pm), you will be dropped off at the Sydney Marathon Expo to collect your race kit. The rest of the day is free to enjoy at your leisure. 

This evening, Marathon Tours & Travel will host a Sydney Harbour Cocktail Cruise. There is no other Sydney venue more desired, no views more captivating, than the spectacular Sydney Harbour! Cocktail cruise includes canapes and one (1) drink per person.

Today you can enjoy the sights of Sydney at your leisure. Relax at one of the famous beaches, visit the Taronga Zoo to see the koalas, or head to the Sydney Running Show for last minute race gear purchases. Tonight, join us for our pre-race dinner at a location nearby.

This morning, a representative from Marathon Tours & Travel will escort you to the starting area. Your hotel is a short walk back from the finish line. This evening, the group will gather for a post-race reception to celebrate your accomplishment at a nearby venue! Celebration reception includes canapes and one (1) drink per person.

Optional Day Tour – Blue Mountains Discovery: Up Close and Personal
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM  –  £300 per person

Absorb the true Australian wilderness with our up close and personal visit to the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains. The Blue Mountains is about an hour from Sydney and although not far to travel, you will feel a world away from the hustle and bustle.

Our host will meet our group at the hotel at 8:00 AM for a full day tour of this beautiful region. Prepare to head off the beaten tourist track to discover the stunning private vantage points only a true local would know – ensuring you experience the spectacular wilderness of the Blue Mountains in style. Be awed by the spectacular natural wonders that surround you as you drive deeper into the mountains, from towering sandstone escarpments covered by lush forests of gum trees to valleys full of wildlife and riverbeds.

The day with start with a visit to Featherdale Wildlife Park on the way to or from the mountains. Located half-way between the city and the Blue Mountains, Featherdale Wildlife Park boasts Australia’s largest collection of native wildlife in a natural bush environment. You’ll have the opportunity to get up close and personal with Australian wildlife – hand feed a Kangaroo, Wallaby, Pademelon or Quokka or perhaps enjoy a one-to-one encounter with a friendly cuddly koala.

Breathe in the fresh mountain air, stretch your legs with a hike and earn that ice-cold Aussie beer with lunch! Explore the stunning rock formations, flora, fauna and waterfalls along the way. The Wentworth Falls hike takes approximately one hour down into the valley floor alongside a giant waterfall.

Lunch will be on your own at a local pub, where you can relax with a glass of crisp local wine or ice-cold Aussie beer in a beautiful mountain town. After lunch, get a glimpse into the rich history of the Blue Mountains – you’ll visit the legendary Three Sisters rock formation and hear the extraordinary geological history of the Blue Mountains and the Great Dividing Range – there’s so much wonder to discover! You will return to the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth at approximately 5:00 PM.
