For one year only, the world‑famous TCS London Marathon will expand into a two‑day event for its 2027 edition over Saturday and Sunday, April 24 and 25. Organizers have announced this as a special one-time format change, expanding the event across both days and welcoming 100,000 participants over the weekend.
The 2027 Double TCS London Marathon has become one of the most sought-after Abbott World Marathon Majors races. Known for its flat scenic course, world-class competition and excellent organization, this gem of a marathon will have you feeling like royalty when you cross the finish line on the Mall in front of Buckingham Palace. This year, take part in the one-time only London Marathon Double weekend!
The first London Marathon was held on March 29, 1981 and more than 20,000 applied to run. From this pool only 6,747 were accepted and 6,255 crossed the finish line on Constitution Hill. Seeing an opportunity to create a unique running experience for our clients, Marathon Tours & Travel immediately established a relationship with the London Marathon team and hosted our first trip in 1982. Entering our 45th year supporting London, we are pleased to continue to be the official North American travel agency.
Our 2027 Double TCS London Marathon Official AbbottWMM Package is available to anyone who has already secured their own entry and is highly recommended for runners and their supporters who are new to the AbbottWMM journey and/or international races. Our travel package provides you with accommodations located in an ideal location near the finish line, a guided London city tour with a trip to the Expo, a pre-race dinner, and transportation to the start area where you can wait in an indoor venue until it is time for you to make your way to your corral.

Wednesday 21 April
Arrive in London and transfer on your own to the Taj St. James’ Court London. You will be greeted at the hotel by a Marathon Tours & Travel team member. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy the exciting city of London!
Thursday 22 April
Enjoy a city tour of London this morning, ending at the Marathon Expo in Greenwich. The rest of the day is free to continue exploring the city.

Friday 23 April
This morning, join us for an optional shakeout run through Kensington Park. For the rest of the day, you can either choose to explore the city on your own or join an optional guided excursion to Windsor castle. The Windsor Castle Tour must be pre-booked and is not automatically included in your package.
This evening, join us for a pre-race dinner to fuel up before getting a good night’s rest.

Saturday 24 April
Race Day!
Breakfast will be provided in the early morning for all clients. Marathon Tours & Travel will have coach transportation from your hotel to the start area where you will have access to an indoor venue and restrooms until it is time to head to your starting gate.

Monday, April 26
After breakfast and checkout, we will head to King’s Cross Station where you will board a train to Edinburgh. Enjoy the scenic ride through the English countryside and then check into your hotel. You will have the afternoon to explore before a group dinner to kick of our Scottish adventure.

Tuesday, April 27
Today you will join a guided walking tour of the Old Town, including sites such as the Royal Mile and St. Giles Cathedral. Next, you’ll have a chance to visit the iconic Edinburgh Castle. The rest of the afternoon is yours to enjoy the city. You may want to visit the Palace of Holyroodhouse, climb up Calton Hill, or visit a local distillery.

Wednesday, April 28
Step beneath Edinburgh’s Royal Mile into Mary King’s Close, where hidden streets and costumed guides bring the city’s eerie and fascinating past to life. Later this evening, we’ll end our time in Scotland on a high note with a lively Ceilidh evening, where traditional music and dancing will make for an unforgettable send-off.

Event Information

Race Date: April 24 & April 25, 2027 – This one‑off format change will see London Marathon Events transform the TCS London Marathon into a spectacular two-day celebration.
Start Time: 9:30 AM
Minimum Pace/Cut-Off Time Policy: Competitors will only be eligible for a medal and to feature in the results if they complete the course before the official cut-off time which is currently 19:00 on the day of the event (subject to variation at the organizers’ discretion).
Course: The point-to-point course is very flat with only one small rise. The triple start winds out of Greenwich Park and Blackheath, loops through Greenwich and across Tower Bridge. Circling Canary Wharf, the course runs along the Thames past the Tower of London, through the heart of London and onto The Mall, where you will finish in front of Buckingham Palace. Renowned as one of the world’s fastest marathon courses, London made history in 2026 when Sabastian Sawe became the first athlete to break the two-hour barrier in an official marathon.
Entry Fee: This package does NOT include a guaranteed entry.
Number Pickup: You must pick up your race bib and packet at the TCS London Marathon Expo. Details can be found here. Please note: No entry is included in this package.
Temperature: Average temperatures on race day are between 50 and 65 degrees Fahrenheit.
Awards: Medal and Finisher Shirt are presented at the finish line.

Security Policy
Marathon Tours & Travel’s security policy requires that anyone staying in our room block must be registered as part of our package. If a registered client attempts to house a non-registered guest and/or invite them to attend any of our scheduled activities, the registered guest’s tour package will be forfeited and parties may be denied access to future tours. Please note that no exceptions will be made as this policy will be strictly enforced.
