When people hear that Elise Walton has run half-marathons in China, Greenland and South Africa, they want to know which was the hardest. Was it the seemingly endless steps on the Great Wall of China? The polar ice sheets in Greenland? Or the sand, hills, armed rangers and wild animals in South Africa? “I can’t pick,” Walton says. “Each one had completely unique challenges. The only thing they had in common was being spectacular.”
