      Welcome to the spectacular Gold Coast! Make your own way from the airport to the hotel and check-in. Usually, hotel rooms are ready after 3:00 pm, if you arrive earlier you can leave your luggage at the hotel.

      Between 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, a representative will be waiting in the lobby to greet you and answer any questions you might have.

      This evening, join us for a light shake-out run along world-famous Surfers Paradise Beach. This will be at an easy pace and is a chance to loosen your legs. It will be no longer than 5km (approx. 3 miles).

      This morning after breakfast enjoy some time to explore the sunny Gold Coast at your leisure, this may also be the perfect time to pick up your bib and check out the Gold Coast running expo, renowned to be the best in Australia!

      For lunch you may want to explore one of Surfers Paradise’s many delicious restaurants. Feel free to ask for recommendations.

      In the evening, we will host our pre-race event to connect with fellow runners and receive your briefing for race day!

      Saturday, July 5 - Half Marathon Day

      Today is race day for our half-marathon runners! After an early breakfast, make your way to the start line. Our representatives will be in the hotel lobby to provide guidance. Spectators are welcome to join us in the dedicated Marathon Tours & Travel marquee at the finish area, the perfect spot to designate as your meet-up zone to find your family and friends.

      In the early evening we will enjoy a sundowner event on the hotel lawn, celebrating our half-finishers and getting the marathoners ready for tomorrow. After this, keep up the celebrations or preparation and head out for dinner. As always, we recommend booking somewhere in advance to ensure you can eat at your preferred restaurant. (Breakfast included)

      Sunday, July 6 - Marathon Day

      Marathon race day is here! After an early breakfast, make your way to the start line. Our representatives will be in the hotel lobby to provide guidance. Once again, spectators are welcome to join us in the dedicated Marathon Tours & Travel marquee at the finish area.

      In the afternoon we’ll meet up for post-race celebrations, saying cheers to all of our runners on an amazing accomplishment! (Breakfast included)

      A beautifully modern 4-star hotel located in Surfers Paradise, near to the beach and easily connected via tram to surrounding areas. The high rise building ensures great views from the rooms.

      There is a bar and restaurant on-site which includes a daily breakfast in your package, along with access to the outdoor pool, fitness center and sauna. All rooms offer air conditioning, cable TV, wireless connectivity and most feature a private balcony.

      Course: The marathon course has a reputation as one of the flattest and fastest courses in the world. The course traditionally runs up and back along the coast allowing runners to pass the beautiful beaches from Paradise Point in the north to Burleigh Heads in the south. Over 60% of participants achieve a personal best time each year making it a perfect place to qualify for the BAA Boston Marathon Abbotts World Marathon Major.

      Temperature: July tends to be sunny and dry with temperatures averaging between 55 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

      Entry Fee:

      • Marathon – $TBC
      • Half Marathon – $TBC

      Eligibility: Must be 15 years or older for the half-marathon and 18 years or older for the full marathon.

      Time Limit: The course time limit for the Marathon is 6 hours and 40 minutes, Half-Marathon is 3 hours and 20 minutes.

      Number Pickup: Your race bib collection is to be made at the ASICS Sport & Leisure Expo prior to race day.

    • Rates: Land Prices may change due to currency fluctuations or changes in any taxes or park fees.

      Reservations and Payments: A completed tour application together with a deposit of $500.00 per person must be received before confirming your reservations. Final payment must be received by April 15, 2025.

      Cancellations: All payments, including your deposit, are non-refundable and non-transferrable. Non-transferrable includes applying your balance to another person, another year or another trip. Should you cancel for any reason, you will forfeit your trip investment. Therefore, travel insurance for every trip is highly recommended. All cancellations must be received in writing.

      Not included in price: All items not specifically listed under tour features. The race entry fee and required Brazilian visa is additional.

      Insurance: For your protection, trip cancellation, baggage, health and accident insurance is highly recommended for all participants. However, no representation or description of the insurance made by our staff constitutes a binding assurance or promise about the insurance.

      Security Policy: Marathon Tours & Travel’s security policy requires that anyone staying in our room block must be registered as part of our package. If a registered client attempts to house a non-registered guest and /or invite them to attend any of our scheduled activities, the registered guest’s tour package will be forfeited and parties may be denied access to future tours. Please note that no exceptions will be made as this policy will be strictly enforced.

      Responsibility: These tours are operated by Marathon Tours, Inc. of Chelsea, MA who acts only as an agent for the passenger to the companies offering such services and assumes no liability for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity caused by any reason whatsoever by any party offering such services. All terms and conditions offered are governed by the laws of Massachusetts. The right is reserved to cancel the tour prior to departure with a refund, less applicable credit card and processing fees, made as full settlement to the passenger. The right is reserved by Marathon Tours, Inc. to deny acceptance of a booking application by any person. Marathon Tours, Inc. may make any changes or alterations in the itinerary as it deems necessary for the proper handling of the tour. The sole responsibility of any airline used is limited to that set out in the passenger contract evidenced by the ticket. The airlines concerned are not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event during the time that the passengers are not on board their aircraft.

Ann joined the Marathon Tours & Travel team after spending five years working as Group Sales Manager for a domestic tour operator specializing in train travel. She has now been a member of the team for eight years and hopes to continue to expand her knowledge of the world. Since her seventh grade world geography class, she has had an interest in learning about all the world has to offer.

During her time majoring in geography at the University of New Hampshire, her love of travel really kicked into high gear after spending a semester abroad in Australia. Let’s just say it was love at first flight! She has completed several half-marathons, 10K and 5K’s around the globe and in her local community.

Ann currently manages trips to Bhutan, Dragon Challenge, Comrades Ultra Marathon, Rio de Janeiro, Big Five, the Australian Outback, Sydney, Cape Town, Dublin and Patagonia in addition to being an Oceania Cruise Line Specialist.
