The Rome Marathon 2027 route is a route that is unmatched anywhere in the world. With a start and finish at the Roman Forum, you will pass in front of the Vittoriano; then in Piazza Venezia, you will gaze upon the Circus Maximus and feel the breeze of the Lungotevere. From there your eyes will cast upon Castel Sant’Angelo as well as St. Peter’s Basilica. Other famous sites on the course include the Foro Italico, the Mosque, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza di Spagna with the famous Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona and Via del Corso. Throughout, you will be engaged and enthralled!

Arrival Day
Arrive in Rome and transfer on your own by train, taxi or shuttle to your hotel.
We recommend you stop by the concierge desk at the hotel to book any additional city tours.

Friday 12 March 2027
City Tour & Expo
After breakfast, we will begin a four-hour guided walking tour of ancient Rome that includes a visit to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.
This afternoon, you should plan to visit the Rome Marathon 2027 Expo to pick up your race bib and packet. More specifics on the Expo will be sent to you as the race gets closer.
Enjoy the evening on your own.

Saturday 13 March 2027
Free Day & Pasta dinner
Today is a free day. We recommend a tour of the Vatican or several other destinations nearby.
If you did not manage to pick up your bib from the Expo yesterday we strongly advise you do this as early as possible today to avoid the rush later on!
Tonight join us for a pre-race dinner at a local restaurant.

Sunday 14 March 2027
Race Day!
Breakfast will be available early. Those running the Rome Marathon 2027 will easily be able to walk to the start from the hotel. The race start area is just a 15 minute walk away.
Please leave plenty of extra time to make your way through the crowds, drop off your bag (if you chose this option) and to find your specific start pen. On arrival at the start please follow the instructions of the race officials, run and have fun!
Upon finishing your race, you can walk back to your hotel for a free afternoon.
Join us this evening for a group Celebration Reception.

Event Information

Race Date: March 14 2027
Race Time: Marathon – 08:30am | 5K Fun Run – TBC
Organizer: Infront Italy S.p.A. in association with Corriere dello Sport S.r.l., Atielle Roma S.r.l. and Italia Marathon Club – amateur sports club, affiliated with the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL). You can find more information on the Run Rome The Marathon website.
Course: The loop course will start near the Colosseum and pass many spectacular sites such as Piazza Venezia, the Roman Forum, Piazza Navona and the Vatican. There is also a 5K fun run on Saturday March 13. Additional details and registration can be found on their website.
Temperature: The average temperatures in Rome are as follows: 9am: 7°-8°C, 1pm: 18°-19°C, 4 pm: 13°-14°C. It is always best to check the 10-day forecast before you depart your home city.
Entry Fee: Entry to the marathon via Marathon Tours & Travel is £99.
Eligibility: Non-competitive runners do not require a medical certificate. The race time will not be displayed in the general leader board but will rather only be available next to the athlete’s name, in alphabetical order, in a separate result table and the athlete will not be able to receive any prizes. Waiver instructions will be provided when runners register.
Time Limit: The course time limit for the Marathon is six (6) hours and 30 minutes. Streets are open to traffic and pedestrians in the late stages of the race.
Number Pickup: Participants must personally pick up bib numbers and race packets. More details will be shared as soon they are available.
Difficulty: Mostly flat, some of the course is on cobblestone.

How to Book

Payments
When you confirm your booking, we will take a deposit payment. Subsequent payments are taken automatically.
Travel advice

Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend travellers to take out comprehensive travel insurance with sufficient healthcare cover. Make sure that you are insured for existing medical conditions, any activities you plan to do and any equipment that you plan to take. Security Policy
Marathon Tours & Travel’s security policy requires that anyone staying in our room block must be registered as part of our package. If a registered client attempts to house a non-registered guest and/or invite them to attend any of our scheduled activities, the registered guest’s tour package will be forfeited and parties may be denied access to future tours. Please note that no exceptions will be made as this policy will be strictly enforced.
Race Rules
Our itinerary and details regarding the race are based on current information available at the time this package was released for sale. Whilst we expect the details to remain correct, changes are possible and will be confirmed nearer to the trip after the race organisers have confirmed final instructions. All race rules and procedures need to be followed.
Starting Pens and Bib Numbers
Although we are licensed to sell official entries for the Rome Marathon 2027, we have no influence over the allocation of starting times and bib numbers. After purchasing your race entry with us, you will be sent a link to complete the registrations process. Please do not expect it immediately after booking – it will be sent when Rome Marathon sends the links to us. The race organisers will allocate you a starting time and bib based on the information you provide.

This event is an Abbott World Marathon Majors Marathon Tours & Travel Age Group World Championship (AGWC) Qualifying Race. If you achieve the automatic qualifying time for your age group, found here, you’ll be invited to the 2028 Age Group World Championship (location still to be determined). The qualifying period begins on January 1, 2027, and will conclude on December 31, 2027.
