The EDP Lisbon Half Marathon is one of the fastest half-marathons in the world, attracting over 30,000 runners each year, including thousands of international athletes. Renowned for its speed, atmosphere and iconic setting, it’s the perfect race to chase a personal best.

Participants are treated to a truly unique course, starting atop the iconic 25 de Abril Bridge and finishing in the heart of Lisbon at the stunning Jerónimos Monastery, a race experience unlike any other.

The EDP Lisbon Half Marathon is also proud to be part of the prestigious SuperHalfs Series, an international running circuit uniting six of Europe’s premier half-marathons: Cardiff, Copenhagen, Berlin, Lisbon, Prague, and Valencia.

      Arrival Day, Welcome & Shake-out Run.

      Make your own arrangements to arrive at the The Emerald House Hotel in Lisbon today. Usually, hotel rooms are ready to check in after 15:00. If you arrive earlier, you can leave your luggage with the hotel and explore your surroundings.

      You are free to enjoy the city at your leisure. If you wish to visit the Expo to collect your race registration pack, please do so (instructions will be provided with the final itinerary).

      Marathon Tours & Travel hosts will be available in your hotel today to meet and answer any questions you might have.

      At 5:30pm  we invite you to join your Marathon Tours & Travel host and your running peers for an easy shake-out run from the hotel. It will acquaint you with the local area and shake-out any travel tiredness. The run will be easy and at a pace comfortable for all fitness levels. Afterwards please join us for a drink; a perfect opportunity to ask questions and get to know your fellow runners.

      Expo & Pasta Dinner

      This morning at 10:00am we will escort you to the Expo to collect your race registration pack. However, if you wish to make your own way there in your own time, instructions will be provided with the final itinerary. Your race pack must be collected before the registration closes this evening. The rest of the day is at your leisure. The Marathon Tours & Travel team will be happy to suggest some sightseeing options.

      Often restaurants are booked up early, but you do not need to worry about finding somewhere to carb-load this evening as you can join your Marathon Tours & Travel host for a delicious and nutritious pre-race pasta dinner at our hotel or a venue close by.

      Race Day and Celebrations!

      Breakfast will be available early.  Your Marathon Tours & Travel host will be happy to escort runners to the start area or you can follow the directions provided to make your own way, in your own time. From Emerald House Hotel, it’s a 30 minute journey by public transport to the start area. Please leave plenty of extra time to make your way through the crowds as well as to find your specific start pen. On arrival at the start please follow the instructions of the race officials, run and have fun!

      After the race make your way back to the hotel, freshen up and celebrate…you deserve it!

      Tonight, we will gather in the hotel bar for a post-race celebration and drink!

      Eligibility: Marathon Tours & Travel, an authorized tour operator, is required to offer travel arrangements in conjunction with guaranteed race entry.

      Number Pick up: You must pick up your race bib and packet at the Lisbon Half Marathon Expo prior to race day.

      Temperature: Average temperatures range between 11C to 18C (49F to 65F).

      Awards: Every finisher receives a medal.

      When you confirm your booking, we will take a deposit payment. Subsequent payments are taken automatically.

      Travel advice

      Before you travel, check the ‘Entry requirements’ section for Portugal’s current entry restrictions and requirements.

      Travel Insurance

      We strongly recommend travelers to take out comprehensive travel insurance with sufficient healthcare cover. Make sure that you are insured for existing medical conditions, any activities you plan to do and any equipment that you plan to take.       Security Policy

      Marathon Tours & Travel’s security policy requires that anyone staying in our room block must be registered as part of our package. If a registered client attempts to house a non-registered guest and/or invite them to attend any of our scheduled activities, the registered guest’s tour package will be forfeited and parties may be denied access to future tours. Please note that no exceptions will be made as this policy will be strictly enforced.

      Race Rules

      Our itinerary and details regarding the race are based on current information available at the time this package was released for sale. Whilst we expect the details to remain correct, changes are possible and will be confirmed nearer to the trip after the race organizers have confirmed final instructions. All race rules and procedures need to be followed.

      Starting Pens and Bib Numbers

      Although we are licensed to sell official entries for the Lisbon Half Marathon 2027, we have no influence over the allocation of starting times and bib numbers. After purchasing your race entry with us, you will be sent a link to complete the registrations process. Please do not expect it immediately after booking – it will be sent when Lisbon Half Marathon send the links to us. The race organizers will allocate you a starting time and bib based on the information you provide.

Patrick joined the Marathon Tours & Travel team after receiving his Master of Business Administration degree from Grand Canyon University. While earning his degree, he spent a year in the Harvard University athletic department working in marketing and fan engagement. Born and raised in New Jersey, Patrick also spent time working in the athletic departments of both Princeton and Monmouth University in similar roles. Patrick is a graduate of William Paterson University of New Jersey with a B.A. in Sport Management and Business Administration and has a passion for both running and sports alike. He hopes to combine his passion of travel and running with his business acumen to create incredible experiences for runners around the world.
