The 46th Valencia Marathon Trinidad Alfonso Zurich takes place on Sunday, December 6, 2026. This World Athletics Platinum Label event is known for its ideal racing conditions – a flat, urban course and cool December temperatures. The race typically starts in waves to ensure runner comfort and safety, and attracts runners from all over the world seeking a personal best. With its enthusiastic crowds, excellent organization, and scenic route that winds through the City of Arts and Sciences and along the coast, the Valencia Marathon offers a memorable running experience for participants of all levels.

Arrival Day
Make your own arrangements to arrive at the Novotel Valencia Lavant today.
Usually, hotel rooms are ready to check in after 3:00pm. If you arrive earlier, you can leave your luggage with the hotel and explore your surroundings while you wait for the room to be ready.
This evening will be on your own.

City Tour & Welcome Drinks
Following breakfast will be a half-day city tour of Valencia!
Early this evening, around 6:30pm, we’ll gather for a welcome drink in the hotel bar!

Saturday, December 5
Shakeout Run & Pasta Dinner
This morning at around 7:30am, join your MTT host as they lead an easy 5km shakeout run around the local area.
The rest of the day can be enjoyed at your leisure.
Your MTT host will be distributing bibs in the hotel lobby from 10:00 – 11:00am.
Later today, at approximately 16:00pm, join your host and fellow runners/spectators, for a pre-race pasta dinner at the hotel.

Sunday, December 6
Race Day and Celebrations!
An early breakfast will be available this morning, from approximately 06:00am.
The race starts in the Plaça de la Marató, a transfer to the start area from the hotel will be provided for all runners. On arrival at the start please follow the instructions of the race officials, run and have fun!
The Marathon route passes right by the hotel – perfectly positioned for race day and to cheer on the runners.
After the race make your way back to the hotel or jump on one of the transfers provided, freshen up, and relax… you deserve it!
Early this evening, around 6:00pm, meet your Marathon Tours & Travel team, fellow runners, and supporters to celebrate your achievement in the hotel bar!

Your day begins with a pickup from your accommodation before heading up to Montjuïc for breathtaking panoramic views over Barcelona. From there, enjoy a guided visit inside the colourful Park Güell, followed by an in‑depth tour of the iconic Sagrada Familia. The journey continues along the elegant Passeig de Grà cia, where you’ll admire the striking façades of Casa Milà and Casa Batlló from the outside. Marathon Tours & Travel’s policy is that anyone staying in our room block must be part of our package. If you plan to bring a spouse or guest, they must purchase our package. For example, if there are two of you, the rate would be the double occupancy rate (per person). If you purchase a single occupancy rate package, then only you are allowed in your room. To attend any of our activities, you must be part of our package.

Event Information

Eligibility: Marathon Tours & Travel, an authorized tour operator, is required to offer travel arrangements in conjunction with guaranteed race entry. All runners must be 18 years or older to participate in the marathon. Race Rules apply.
Temperature: December in Valencia is ideal for long distance races with perfect temperatures between 54 and 63 degrees Fahrenheit.
Difficulty: Valencia has no hills. It is almost completely flat. If you are looking for a quick time, this is your marathon.
Course: The Valencia Marathon course, starting in the Plaça de la Marató and ending along a walkway over water in the City of Arts and Sciences, is the ideal circuit for achieving a personal best. It is completely flat and at sea level. It runs along large avenues and through the historic center of the city, where the main tourist attractions are located. In addition, it has numerous cheering stations along the route to help you keep up your pace.
Race Time: The start will be at 8:15 a.m. and the race will finish by 3:15 p.m.
Minimum Pace/Cut-off Time Policy: The maximum official time for finishing the race will be 5h:30, with this time limit not being exceeded under any circumstances.
Awards: Every finisher receives a medal.

Rates:Â All prices are based on current exchange rates and may change due to currency fluctuations.
Reservations and Payments: A completed tour application together with a deposit of 30% of the package price plus 100% of the race entry price must be received before confirming your reservation. The second installment of 30% will be automatically charged to the card on file on June 6, 2026. The final balance will be automatically charged to the card on file on September 4, 2026. Payments received after September 5, 2026 are subject to a $50 per person late fee.
Cancellations:Â All payments, including your deposit, are non-refundable and non-transferrable. Non-transferrable includes applying your balance to another person, another year or another trip. Should you cancel for any reason, you will forfeit your trip investment. Therefore, travel insurance for every trip is highly recommended. All cancellations must be received in writing.
Not included in price:Â All items not specifically listed under tour features.
Insurance:Â For your protection, trip cancellation, baggage, health and accident insurance is highly recommended for all participants. However, no representation or description of the insurance made by our staff constitutes a binding assurance or promise about the insurance.
Travel Insurance for U.S. Residents
Travel Insurance for Canadian ResidentsSecurity Policy: Marathon Tours & Travel’s security policy requires that anyone staying in our room block must be registered as part of our package. If a registered client attempts to house a non-registered guest and /or invite them to attend any of our scheduled activities, the registered guest’s tour package will be forfeited and parties may be denied access to future tours. Please note that no exceptions will be made as this policy will be strictly enforced.
Responsibility:Â These tours are operated by Marathon Tours, Inc. of Chelsea, MA who acts only as an agent for the passenger to the companies offering such services and assumes no liability for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity caused by any reason whatsoever by any party offering such services. All terms and conditions offered are governed by the laws of Massachusetts. The right is reserved to cancel the tour prior to departure with a refund, less applicable credit card and processing fees, made as full settlement to the passenger. The right is reserved by Marathon Tours, Inc. to deny acceptance of a booking application by any person. Marathon Tours, Inc. may make any changes or alterations in the itinerary as it deems necessary for the proper handling of the tour. The sole responsibility of any airline used is limited to that set out in the passenger contract evidenced by the ticket. The airlines concerned are not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event during the time that the passengers are not on board their aircraft.

Patrick joined the Marathon Tours & Travel team after receiving his Master of Business Administration degree from Grand Canyon University. While earning his degree, he spent a year in the Harvard University athletic department working in marketing and fan engagement. Born and raised in New Jersey, Patrick also spent time working in the athletic departments of both Princeton and Monmouth University in similar roles. Patrick is a graduate of William Paterson University of New Jersey with a B.A. in Sport Management and Business Administration and has a passion for both running and sports alike. He hopes to combine his passion of travel and running with his business acumen to create incredible experiences for runners around the world.
