Nestled at the foothills of the Andes, Mendoza is a vibrant city known for its world-class Malbec wines, stunning mountain scenery, and warm hospitality. But for runners, it offers something truly unique: the chance to race through one of the most picturesque wine regions in the world.
The Mendoza International Marathon is celebrated not only for its breathtaking scenery but also for being a fast, point-to-point course. With a gentle downhill profile and cool autumn temperatures, it’s ideal for runners chasing personal bests or qualifying times. The marathon route is one of its greatest attractions, beginning at the iconic Cacheuta Hanging Bridge and ending at the majestic gates of General San Martín Park. Throughout the 42 kilometers, runners pass through stunning landscapes including mountains, rivers, and vineyards, offering a panoramic view of Mendoza’s natural beauty.
To accommodate runners of all levels, the event offers multiple distances—including a full marathon, half marathon, and shorter fun runs—making it accessible whether you’re a seasoned athlete or a casual participant looking to soak in the atmosphere.

Wednesday, April 29
Arrive in Mendoza (MDZ) between 10:00AM and 2:00PM to catch your included transfer to the Park Hyatt Mendoza. This evening join your fellow runners for a welcome reception at the hotel.
Thursday, April 30
After breakfast we will head out on a curated wine experience through the heart of Mendoza’s prestigious Luján de Cuyo region. This full-day tour invites you to discover three exceptional wineries, each offering a unique perspective on Argentine winemaking. With included visits and tastings at Renacer and Vistalba, where expert wine guides will lead you through the vineyards and cellars while we learn about the regions signature grape varieties. Before returning to Mendoza we will enjoy lunch at Lagarde’s Fogón restaurant, offering a true taste of Mendoza’s rich culinary heritage and winemaking tradition. (Breakfast and Lunch included)
Friday, May 1
After breakfast we will begin our full-day adventure into the majestic landscapes of the Andes. Departing along the Pan-American Highway, we will pass through extraordinary landscapes such as Cacheuta, Potrerillos, and Uspallata. The itinerary includes a visit to the historic Picheuta Bridge, Polvaredas, Paramillos, and Punta de Vacas. We will then arrive at Los Penitentes ski resort, followed shortly by Puente del Inca, famous for its fascinating geological formation and thermal waters. Later, we’ll enter Aconcagua Provincial Park to take a short trek to the Los Horcones Lagoon, from where you’ll get an unbeatable view of Mount Aconcagua. The journey continues to Las Cuevas, the last Argentine village on the route. Upon your return to Mendoza we will enjoy a group dinner at a local restaurant. (Breakfast, Picnic Lunch and Dinner included)
Saturday, May 2
Today we will discover the charm and history of Mendoza on our half-day tour. This experience offers a perfect introduction to the province, showcasing its tree-lined streets, immaculate public spaces, and rich cultural landmarks. We will begin in Mendoza’s historic Foundational Area, then discover the vibrant New City and its civic landmarks, including the iconic Los Andes Army Flag. Continue to the lush General San Martín Park, the city’s green oasis, and finish at Cerro de la Gloria, home to the monument honoring the Army of the Andes. You will have the afternoon at your leisure before joining us for a pre-race dinner at the Park Hyatt. (Breakfast and Dinner included).

Course:
Start Line: Puente Colgante de Cacheuta
You begin at the iconic Hanging Bridge of Cacheuta, nestled in the pre-Andean mountains. The air is crisp, and the early morning light casts golden hues over the rugged terrain. The first few kilometers descend gently, easing you into the rhythm of the race.KM 1–10: Mountain Descent & River Views
The course follows a gradual downhill path, winding through arid mountain landscapes. You run alongside the Mendoza River, with the sound of rushing water accompanying your stride. The terrain is smooth, and the cool shade from scattered trees offers relief as the sun rises.KM 11–20: Vineyards of Luján de Cuyo
You enter the heart of wine country, passing rows of Malbec vineyards. The scent of grapevines and fertile soil fills the air. This stretch is scenic and peaceful, with the Andes Mountains looming in the background. The descent continues, but the slopes are gentle and runnable.KM 21–30: Urban Transition
The route begins to transition from rural to urban. You pass through suburban neighborhoods, with locals cheering from sidewalks and balconies. The terrain flattens out, and the road widens. Aid stations are frequent, and the energy builds as you approach the city.KM 31–42: Final Push to Parque General San Martín
The last segment takes you through tree-lined avenues and past historic landmarks. The finish line awaits at the Portones del Parque General San Martín, a majestic iron gate marking the entrance to Mendoza’s most famous park. Crowds gather here, music plays, and the final sprint is emotional and exhilarating.Temperature: May brings mild fall weather to Mendoza with temperatures ranging from 76F (24C) during the day and temperatures dropping to a comfortable 55F in the evening (12C).

Eligibility: The minimum age limit for the marathon is 18 years old, 16 years old for the half-marathon with consent.
Time Limit: The course time limit for the Marathon is six (6) hours, Half-Marathon is three (3) hours, the 10K is 90 minutes and the 4K is 60 minutes.
Number Pickup: The Expo is open on Friday, May 1 from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, May 2 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Nave Cultural located at Las Cubas 201, Mendoza City.

Rates: Land Prices may change due to currency fluctuations or changes in any taxes or park fees.
Reservations and Payments: A completed tour application together with a deposit of $600.00 per person must be received before confirming your reservations. Final payment must be received by February 1, 2026.
Cancellations: All payments, including your deposit, are non-refundable and non-transferrable. Non-transferrable includes applying your balance to another person, another year or another trip. Should you cancel for any reason, you will forfeit your trip investment. Therefore, travel insurance for every trip is highly recommended. All cancellations must be received in writing.
Not included in price: All items not specifically listed under tour features. The race entry fee is additional.
Insurance: For your protection, trip cancellation, baggage, health and accident insurance is highly recommended for all participants. However, no representation or description of the insurance made by our staff constitutes a binding assurance or promise about the insurance.

Travel Insurance for Canadian ResidentsSecurity Policy: Marathon Tours & Travel’s security policy requires that anyone staying in our room block must be registered as part of our package. If a registered client attempts to house a non-registered guest and /or invite them to attend any of our scheduled activities, the registered guest’s tour package will be forfeited and parties may be denied access to future tours. Please note that no exceptions will be made as this policy will be strictly enforced.
Responsibility: These tours are operated by Marathon Tours, Inc. of Chelsea, MA who acts only as an agent for the passenger to the companies offering such services and assumes no liability for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity caused by any reason whatsoever by any party offering such services. All terms and conditions offered are governed by the laws of Massachusetts. The right is reserved to cancel the tour prior to departure with a refund, less applicable credit card and processing fees, made as full settlement to the passenger. The right is reserved by Marathon Tours, Inc. to deny acceptance of a booking application by any person. Marathon Tours, Inc. may make any changes or alterations in the itinerary as it deems necessary for the proper handling of the tour. The sole responsibility of any airline used is limited to that set out in the passenger contract evidenced by the ticket. This event is an Abbott World Marathon Majors Marathon Tours & Travel Age Group World Championship (AGWC) Qualifying Race. If you achieve the automatic qualifying time for your age group, found here, you’ll be invited to the 2026 Age Group World Championship in Cape Town, South Africa. The qualifying period began on January 1, 2025, and will conclude on December 31, 2025. We invite you to book the official AGWC package here.

Senior Trip Designer
Ann joined the Marathon Tours & Travel team after spending five years working as Group Sales Manager for a domestic tour operator specializing in train travel. She has now been a member of the team for eight years and hopes to continue to expand her knowledge of the world. Since her seventh grade world geography class, she has had an interest in learning about all the world has to offer.
During her time majoring in geography at the University of New Hampshire, her love of travel really kicked into high gear after spending a semester abroad in Australia. Let’s just say it was love at first flight! She has completed several half-marathons, 10K and 5K’s around the globe and in her local community.
Ann currently manages trips to Bhutan, Dragon Challenge, Comrades Ultra Marathon, Rio de Janeiro, Big Five, the Australian Outback, Sydney, Cape Town, Dublin and Patagonia in addition to being an Oceania Cruise Line Specialist.
