Patagonia Running Festival Marathon 2025
If you have questions regarding Marathon Tours & Travel’s Patagonia Packages please: EMAIL OUR TRIP DESIGNER or CALL 617-242-7845
Nestled at the very bottom of South America, Patagonia is remote, rugged, stunningly beautiful and guaranteed to leave you breathless and rejuvenated as you disconnect from the world and find your place amid its natural magnificence!
After five years of hosting our Patagonia Running Festival in the region’s springtime, we are excited to move our race to May, to enjoy Patagonia’s beautiful autumn season. Although it’s considered to be less windy than September, don’t be fooled, wind is always a possibility on race day.
Marathon Tours & Travel is continuing it’s partnership with The Massif ®, a Magellan family business that recognizes the relevance and natural heritage value of Torres del Paine. Our Patagonia Running Festival packages have been designed to bring together global runners to participate in the best race day and adventure travel experience that Chilean Patagonia has to offer. Running within Torres del Paine National Park, runners can choose from the Ultra 50K, Marathon, Half-Marathon, 10K or 5K distances. After fulfilling the dream of running in one of the most pristine places on the planet, you will cross the finish line conveniently located at our Hotel Rio Serrano & Spa and join the post-race celebration! We have incorporated five years of client feedback to enhance our Patagonian experience and welcome you to read what past clients highlighted.
Immerse yourself in a hiker’s paradise and enjoy a wonderfully unique experience, unlike any before. The turquoise waters, beautiful glaciers, towering granite horns and jaw-dropping landscapes of this eighth wonder of the world are humbling indeed.
What else can you expect? Terrific wildlife-watching in Torres del Paine; seeing the majestic condors soaring overhead; spotting foxes, huemul or Andean deer and guanacos along the way; and if you lie in wait patiently, you might even be lucky enough to spot the reclusive puma!

COVID-19 - Messages of Client SupportThank you to Ms. Suter for her excellent piece on what to do if your race is cancelled. Her writing reminded me to refocus on mindfulness and to maintain the training plan for the Outback. Her counsel applies not only to running but to life in general. In line with something Ms. Suter writes, I recently resumed yoga to help deal with the Covid-19 stress. I had started following a Runner’s World yoga DVD in the months prior to Bhutan to prepare spiritually. Ironically I dropped yoga when we returned to the states because I felt too busy!
That leads to my next thought. We were reminiscing the past two days about our wonderful time in Bhutan. Thank you to the great staff at Marathon Tours & Travel. These memories, plus Patagonia and the Big 5 tours, remind us of the beauty in the world. We greatly appreciate the work Ann and Stephanie have done for us. We look forward to traveling again.
"Really enjoyed the atmosphere of the finish..." - 2019Really enjoyed the atmosphere of the finish – so nice being by the hotel so we could get showered and then cheer the others in.

Valle Nevado Snow SkiingValle Nevado is the newest and grandest of the Tres Valles resorts. Sporting Chile’s only detachable quad and a five star hotel at its base area, Valle Nevado attracts a very international crowd that enjoy its expansive intermediate focused terrain. Valle Nevado features huge wide-open slopes amidst spectacular mountain scenery. With an amazing 9,000 acres of in bounds ski-able terrain and the highest lift service in the Southern hemisphere, Valle Nevado presents vast powder opportunities. In addition to Valle’s ginormous in bounds area it also offers private heli-skiing in its adjacent valleys. What Valle Nevado lacks in steepness and extreme terrain it makes up for in pure area. The Tres Puntas poma lift, the longest in South America, drops riders off at 3,670 meters (12,040 feet) beneath the gargantuan 17,000 foot Cerro Plomo Peak.

Born and raised in Canada, Marcie discovered the magic of road cycling in grade six after earning a 10-speed bike selling oranges for her school fundraiser. Although active in soccer, basketball and rowing during her school years, she admits that physical activity took a backseat to a career in design.
While raising her kids in New England, she rekindled her love of cycling in 2016 and, as a personal challenge, added running and swimming in 2018 to compete in her first 70.3 Triathlon in Prague, CZ to celebrate her 50th birthday. Since then, she has completed two full and five half distance triathlons; and a number of gravel and CX races. Her love of travel and cycling has spurred her to ride her bike more than 24,000 miles in the last six years including multi-day adventures across Czech Republic and three different states. She has circumvented Lake Champlain and conquered mountains in Austria, Canada and the US on two wheels.
Though competitive in nature and fueled by the excitement of a new venue, Marcie found that her greatest joy in racing Triathlon came from the challenge of planning for the unexpected and getting to know people along the course, hearing their stories and motivations and finding out their “WHY”.
A self-admitted “Jack of all trades”, Marcie comes to MTT with work experiences as both a bicycle mechanic and a producer of custom cycling endurance apparel. Marcie currently manages running packages to Big Five, Petra, Iceland Volcano, Polar Circle, Midnight Marathon, Lost City, First Light, Queenstown, Great Wall, and our very own Patagonia Running Festival. She is excited be a part of your journey and to help you to achieve your “WHY”.
