We are excited to offer the inaugural Amazon Marathon, taking place in Puerto Maldonado, located in southeastern Peru in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest. Puerto Maldonado is the region’s primary gateway town and sits near the confluence of the Tambopata and Madre de Dios Rivers, surrounded by several renowned national parks and protected reserves.

This area is home to some of the most pristine primary rainforests in the world. Situated in the steamy lowland Amazon, Puerto Maldonado’s rainforest remains largely undisturbed, allowing visitors to experience exceptionally high levels of biodiversity with minimal travel time from town to trail. Runners and spectators alike will be immersed in one of the planet’s richest ecosystems, where wildlife, dense jungle canopy, and winding river systems define the landscape.

The Amazon Marathon features 100% trail-based courses, designed to challenge and inspire runners of all levels. Distances offered include a full marathon, half-marathon and 10.5K.  As the course winds through jungle trails it will highlight the raw beauty and demanding terrain of the Amazon, offering a truly unforgettable running and adventure experience.

We offer a five-night package with the option to extend an additional five-nights to see some of the more popular Peruvian sites, such as Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Cusco.  This destination is ideal for the runner looking for their next adventure!

What started as a personal quest to explore the world through marathons turned into something much bigger, blending his passion for travel, endurance sports, and connecting with people. Before joining the team, he spent years in client-focused leadership roles at Morgan Stanley, always driven by a desire to grow, push boundaries, and help others do the same—whether by achieving their goals, creating lasting impact, or building a meaningful legacy.

A self-proclaimed middle-of-the-pack runner, he’s tackled 51 marathons scattered over all seven continents, earned three Abbott World Marathon Majors Six Star Medals, and is a proud Seven Continents Club® Finisher. He doesn’t just talk the talk for MTT—he runs it.

Always up for a challenge, he finds just as much joy in climbing, skiing, and paddling as he does in running. No matter how many times he visits a destination, he believes each trip is a chance to see it with fresh eyes, meet new people, and learn something new. He’s deeply involved in the running and adventure community, serving on the board for Oceanites, leading T.O.U.R.S.
