The United Airlines NYC Half is a very popular half marathon. Starting in Brooklyn, crossing the Manhattan Bridge and through Times Square, Manhattan before finishing in Central Park, the United Airlines NYC Half takes you on a wonderful journey through the closed New York City streets. This year, you can enjoy the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and festivities on the Saturday and race on the Sunday. A great time to be in New York City!

Attracting more than 24,000 runners from across the globe demand for places is high but as official tour operator for this event you do not need to wait or worry about the lottery process, instead we can guarantee your place on a first-come, first-served basis.

Marathon Tours & Travel offer a three-night package staying at deluxe accommodation, located in the heart of Manhattan and within easy reach of the course. Extra nights can be added. As part of our expertly created packages, we include invitations for you to take part in activities such as welcome reception, escorted race number pick-up, warm-up run, escorted journey to race start, post-race celebrations and the Marathon Tours & Travel team will be on hand for guidance and support to help make your trip a fun, enjoyable and successful time.

      Welcome to New York City!  Your Marathon Tours & Travel (MTT) team look forward to meeting you upon your arrival at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel. Once you check in, the afternoon is yours to enjoy. Today is a perfect day to make your way to the expo to collect your bib. Details regarding the United Airlines NYC Half Expo and bib pickup will be shared once available. We will look forward to seeing you this evening at our Welcome Reception. (Welcome reception included)

      We start the day with an optional shakeout run through Central Park. The rest of the day is yours to explore the city or relax before the big day. From attending a Broadway show to walking across the Brooklyn Bridge there is no shortage of ways to enjoy St. Patrick’s Day weekend here in the ‘Big Apple’.  If you have not made your way to the expo yet, please be sure to add this to your day agenda. Enjoy dinner on your own this evening at one of the many local restaurants.

      Luck of the Irish, it’s race day! This will be an early morning with public transport to the race start guided by your MTT Host. The United Airlines NYC Half starts in Brooklyn and passes through famous landmarks such as the Manhattan Bridge, Times Square, and Grand Central Station, before finishing at Central Park in Manhattan. Following the race, make your way back on your own to the hotel (approximately a 15-minute walk). Enjoy some well-deserved rest before we gather for a celebratory toast in the hotel lobby bar. The rest of the evening is free to experience one of the many fine restaurants in the city and enjoy some St. Patrick’s Day celebrations! (post-race drink included)

      You can’t find a better location than the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel!  It is ideally located less than one mile from the marathon finish on 7th Avenue in midtown Manhattan.  Walk out the door to the excitement of Central Park, Broadway theaters, the finest restaurants and bars, world-class shopping, and so much more.  You will find free in-room internet in the newly redesigned Traditional Rooms that are tastefully decorated with rich and soothing shades of brown throughout.  The Hudson Market offers daily buffet breakfast, and the Bistro is open daily from 5:00 AM – 10:00 PM serving the best burgers in town. The Sheraton also offers a fully equipped health club (open from 5:00 AM – 11:00 PM daily), business center, multilingual staff,100% non-smoking rooms and facilities, Lobby Theater Desk as well as a Concierge Desk.  Upgrades are available upon request.

    • Race Day: March 17, 2024

      Race Time: From 7:00am in waves

      The Course: Runners will begin their journey on Prospect Park’s Center Drive in Brooklyn before taking the race onto Brooklyn’s streets. The course will take runners over the Manhattan Bridge and up the FDR Drive before a crosstown dash on 42nd Street and a turn north on 7th Avenue, through Times Square, and into Central Park.

      Minimum Pace/Cut-off Time Policy: 3 hours. Participants need to maintain a 13:45 mile pace throughout the race to avoid cut off at certain points.

      Eligibility: Marathon Tours & Travel, an authorized tour operator, is required to offer travel arrangements in conjunction with guaranteed race entry. All runners must be 18 years or older on race day to be eligible for our guaranteed entries.

      Number Pickup: You must pick up your race bib and packet at the Registration & Expo prior to race day.

      Temperature: Average temperatures range between 8C to 16C (46F to 60F).

      Awards: Every finisher receives a T-Shirt & Medal.

  • Registration & Booking

    • Rates:  Air and land prices may change due to currency fluctuations and fuel surcharges.

      Reservations and Payments: A completed tour application together with a deposit of $300 per person must be received before confirming your reservations.  Final payment must be received by January 15, 2024.

      Cancellations: All payments, including your deposit, are non-refundable and non-transferrable.  Non-transferrable includes applying your balance to another person, another year or another trip. Should you cancel for any reason, you will forfeit your trip investment. Therefore, travel insurance for every trip is highly recommended. All cancellations must be received in writing.

      Not included in price: All items not specifically listed under tour features. Entry fees are additional. Entry fees are non-refundable.

      Insurance: For your protection, trip cancellation, baggage, health and accident insurance is highly recommended for all participants.  However, no representation or description of the insurance made by our staff constitutes a binding assurance or promise about the insurance.

      Security Policy:  Marathon Tours & Travel’s security policy requires that anyone staying in our room block must be registered as part of our package.  If a registered client attempts to house a non-registered guest and /or invite them to attend any of our scheduled activities, the registered guest’s tour package will be forfeited and parties may be denied access to future tours. Please note that no exceptions will be made as this policy will be strictly enforced.

      Responsibility: These tours are operated by Marathon Tours, Inc. of Chelsea, MA who acts only as an agent for the passenger to the companies offering such services and assumes no liability for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity caused by any reason whatsoever by any party offering such services. All terms and conditions offered are governed by the laws of Massachusetts. The right is reserved to cancel the tour prior to departure with a refund, less applicable credit card and processing fees, made as full settlement to the passenger. The right is reserved by Marathon Tours, Inc. to deny acceptance of a booking application by any person. Marathon Tours, Inc. may make any changes or alterations in the itinerary as it deems necessary for the proper handling of the tour. The sole responsibility of any airline used is limited to that set out in the passenger contract evidenced by the ticket. The airlines concerned are not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event during the time that the passengers are not on board their aircraft.
