The TCS Amsterdam Marathon is a World Athletics Platinum Label Road Race, which is renowned for being one of the fastest courses in the world. In the ranking of fastest marathon cities, the largest marathon of the Netherlands is in fourth place. Highlights of the course include the start and finish in the Olympic Stadium, the passage through the Rijksmuseum and along the Heineken Experience, stretches along the Amstel and through the Vondelpark. The half-marathon & 8K will take place the same day.
Amsterdam has so much to offer such as museums, canals, cobbled streets and pretty quaint cafes to wine and dine. Getting around is easy by foot, bicycle, train, bus or tram. It is also known as one of the safest cities in Europe!
Our Amsterdam Marathon packages include a conveniently located hotel with breakfast for 3 or 4 nights. We also offer entry into all distances plus various opportunities to meet with fellow runners. Amsterdam South train station is only 5 minutes’ walk from the hotel, from which you can access Schiphol airport by direct train in 6 minutes. Perfectly positioned for race day the marathon runners pass our hotel which is in the 7km/8km area, 21km and 8km runners can easily be seen at various points close by and the race start/finish area is 25 minutes away. We invite you to take part in warm up runs, pasta dinner and celebrations and Marathon Tours & Travel team will be on hand for guidance and support to make your trip a success.
Travelling from afar? Run two races in one trip with us. Royal Parks Half is the weekend before the Amsterdam Marathon.

Friday, October 17- Welcome to Amsterdam!
Depending on the length of stay you have booked with us you might arrive before or depart on different days to the following itinerary. Amsterdam is fascinating with plenty to see and do. The itinerary below reflects the three night package and allows you the time to enjoy the city.
Upon arrival, make your own arrangements to arrive at Crowne Plaza Amsterdam South. Usually, hotel rooms are ready to check in after 3pm. If you arrive earlier you can leave your luggage with the hotel and explore your surroundings while you wait for the room to be ready.
If you wish to visit the Expo to collect your race registration pack, please do so (instructions will be provided with the final itinerary). The International Marathon Expo is open today between 10:00am and 8:00pm.
Early this evening Marathon Tours & Travel invite you to join us in the hotel lobby before leaving for an optional run in the local area. It will acquaint you with the local area and shake-out any travel tiredness. The run will be easy and at a pace comfortable for all fitness levels. A perfect opportunity to ask questions and get to know fellow runners.
Saturday, October 18
After breakfast we will escort you to the Expo to collect your race registration pack. However, if you wish to make your own way there or register later when we have dinner please feel free to do so. Instructions will be provided with the final itinerary. The International Marathon Expo is open today until 7:00pm. Your race pack must be collected today, latest.
The rest of the day is at your leisure. Marathon Tours & Travel team will be happy to suggest some sightseeing options.
Later today, at approximately 4:00pm please join us for a pre-race pasta dinner at the VIP International Pasta Party. In line with the global tradition, the evening before the marathon you can carbo load at the official pasta party in the VIP tent in the middle of the historic Olympic Stadium. This is included in your package and will ensure an excellent buffet pasta meal and drink in the company of your fellow runners. Marathon Tours & travel will escort you to the venue. (Breakfast and dinner included)
Sunday, October 19 - Race Day!
Breakfast at the hotel will be available from 6.30am. The start venue for the marathon, half marathon and 8km is outside the Olympic Stadium and easily accessible in 15 minutes by combination of train and walking or 25 minutes walking. Please leave plenty of extra time to make your way through the crowds to drop off your bag (if you chose this option) and to find your specific start pen. On arrival at the start please follow the instructions of the race officials, run and have fun!
The Marathon route passes by the Crowne Plaza Amsterdam South Hotel. Perfectly positioned for race day and to cheer on the runners.
After the race make your way back to the hotel, freshen up, celebrate…you deserve it! Trains can be chaotic, so its a benefit to be able to walk the short distance to your hotel.
This evening meet your Marathon Tours & Travel team, fellow runners and supporters to celebrate your achievement! More details will be advised on the final itinerary. (Breakfast included)

The Crowne Plaza Amsterdam South hotel is located in a lovely area, surrounded by restaurants and pretty streets and only 5 minutes walk from Amsterdam South train station, which allows easy access to all areas of the city. Schiphol Airport can be reached by direct train from Amsterdam South in only 6 minutes. The hotel has free high-speed WiFi throughout, a gym, bar, restaurant and serves a delicious breakfast buffet.

Entry: We are pleased to offer guaranteed entry into the TCS Amsterdam Marathon.
Course: The start and finish of all distances are at the Olympic Stadium. You can expect a fast and flat that lead runners through the sights and sounds of Amsterdam. The time limit for the marathon is six (6) hours and three (3) hours for the half-marathon. All participants in the 8K must finish in 65 minutes.
Temperature: Average temperatures on race day is around 55F.
Eligibility: All runners must be 18 years or older to participate in the marathon or half-marathon and 14 years or older on race day to participate in the 8K.
Awards: Every finisher receives a medal.
Difficulty: Easy. A flat and fast course.

Rates: All prices are based on current exchange rates and may change due to currency fluctuations.
Eligibility: Marathon Tours & Travel, an authorized tour operator, is required to offer travel arrangements in conjunction with guaranteed race entry. All runners must be 18 years or older on race day to be eligible for our guaranteed entries for the marathon or half-marathon; and 14 years of age for the 8K.
Reservations and Payments: All bookings for this trip will go through Marathon Tours & Travel UK. Their terms & conditions of sale can be found here.
Cancellations: All payments, including your deposit, are non-refundable and non-transferrable. Non-transferrable includes applying your balance to another person, another year or another trip. Should you cancel for any reason, you will forfeit your trip investment. Therefore, travel insurance for every trip is highly recommended. All cancellations must be received in writing.
Not included in price: All items not specifically listed under tour features.
Insurance: For your protection, trip cancellation, baggage, health and accident insurance is highly recommended for all participants. However, no representation or description of the insurance made by our staff constitutes a binding assurance or promise about the insurance.

Travel Insurance for Canadian ResidentsSecurity Policy: Marathon Tours & Travel’s security policy requires that anyone staying in our room block must be registered as part of our package. If a registered client attempts to house a non-registered guest and /or invite them to attend any of our scheduled activities, the registered guest’s tour package will be forfeited and parties may be denied access to future tours. Please note that no exceptions will be made as this policy will be strictly enforced.
Responsibility: These tours are operated by Marathon Tours, Inc. of Chelsea, MA who acts only as an agent for the passenger to the companies offering such services and assumes no liability for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity caused by any reason whatsoever by any party offering such services. All terms and conditions offered are governed by the laws of Massachusetts. The right is reserved to cancel the tour prior to departure with a refund, less applicable credit card and processing fees, made as full settlement to the passenger. Patrick joined the Marathon Tours & Travel team after receiving his Master of Business Administration degree from Grand Canyon University. While earning his degree, he spent a year in the Harvard University athletic department working in marketing and fan engagement. Born and raised in New Jersey, Patrick also spent time working in the athletic departments of both Princeton and Monmouth University in similar roles. Patrick is a graduate of William Paterson University of New Jersey with a B.A. in Sport Management and Business Administration and has a passion for both running and sports alike. He hopes to combine his passion of travel and running with his business acumen to create incredible experiences for runners around the world.
