The Nice-Cannes Marathon 2026, also known as the French Riviera Marathon, is the second biggest marathon in France after the Paris Marathon.
The French Riviera Marathon offers a wonderful journey along the Cote d’Azur between Nice and Cannes. The event takes place on Sunday 8 November 2026 and there are several distances available during the event weekend. The French Riviera Marathon was voted the World’s Most Beautiful Tourist Marathon’ by Forbes Travel Guide in 2018. The event offers exceptional views, from the palm trees of Nice’s Promenade des Anglais to the finish line in front of the steps of the legendary Palais des Festivals which is the home of the famous annual Cannes film festival. The French Riviera Marathon is a qualifier race for the Marathon Tours & Travel Age Group World Championships.

The best thing is that all event distances start and finish close to a train station. Public transport is free to use for all participants on race day.

Depending on the length of stay you have booked with us you might arrive before or depart on different days to the following itinerary.
Nice and the Cote d’Azur are fascinating with plenty to see and do. The itinerary below reflects the 3 nights package. Adding extra nights is recommended and allows you more time to explore the city.
Arrival day, Welcome Meet & Greet
Make your own arrangements to arrive at Hotel Lakmi, where your stay will begin. Hotel rooms are ready to check in after 14:00. If you arrive earlier, you can leave your luggage with the hotel and explore your surroundings.
You are free to enjoy the city at your leisure. If you wish to visit the Expo to collect your race registration pack, please do so (instructions will be provided with the final itinerary), The Marathon Expo is open today between 10:00 and 19:00.
A Marathon Tours & Travel host will be available in your hotel today to meet and answer any questions you might have.
Later we invite you to join your Marathon Tours & Travel host and your running peers to join us for a drink, a perfect opportunity to ask questions and get to know your fellow runners.
The time & venue will be confirmed closer to the event date in the final itinerary sent prior to your arrival in Nice.

Saturday, November 7
Breakfast Run, Expo & Pre Race Dinner
Marathon Tours & Travel invite you to join us in the hotel lobby at 08:15 before leaving for an optional run down the Promenade des Anglais.
The Breakfast Run is an established tradition the day before the marathon, attracting 200–300 participants for a relaxed shakeout run on the Promenade.
After breakfast run, we will escort anyone to the Expo who has not collected their race registration pack. However, if you wish to make your own way there, please feel free to do so. The Marathon Expo is open today until 20:00 (Expo hours subject to change). Instructions will be provided with the final itinerary.
The rest of the day is at your leisure. The Marathon Tours & Travel team will be happy to suggest some sightseeing options.
Why not explore other iconic destinations along the French Riviera, such as Monaco, Antibes, or even the glamorous finish town of Cannes – all easily reached by a short train journey.
Later today, we invite you to join your Marathon Tours & Travel host for a pre-race dinner. This is included in your package and will ensure an excellent meal and drink in the company of your fellow runners.
The time & venue will be confirmed closer to the event date in the final itinerary sent prior to your arrival in Nice.

Sunday, November 8
Race Day & Celebrations!
Breakfast will be available early from 06:30. Those taking part in the French Riviera marathon 2026 will easily be able to walk to the start from Hotel Lakmi. Your Marathon Tours & Travel host will be happy to escort runners to the start area, or you can follow the directions provided to make your own way, in your own time. From Hotel Lakmi, it’s a straightforward 15 minutes’ walk to the runners only start area (Promenade des Anglais). Please leave plenty of extra time to make your way through the crowds and to drop off your bag (if you chose this option), On arrival at the start please follow the instructions of the race officials, run, and have fun!
After the race make your way back to the hotel, freshen up and celebrate…you deserve it! Your bib number provides you with free train travel back to NICE, Hotel Lakmi is a short 10-minute walk from Nice Ville train station.
Return to Nice – Free TER service for all participants using bib as ticket. Cannes → Nice: ~30–40 minutes.
This evening meet your Marathon Tours & Travel host, fellow runners and supporters for a post-race celebration and drink! Â More details will be provided on the final itinerary.

Starting Times and Bib Numbers: Although we are licensed to sell official entries for the Nice – Cannes Marathon 2026, we have no influence over the allocation of starting times and bib numbers.
Closer to the event we will send you a link which will allow you to complete the registration process. Once you have finalized the registration process, the race organizers will allocate you a starting time and bib based on the information provided.
Race Rules: Our website and details regarding the race are based on current information available at the time this package was released for sale. Whilst we expect the details to remain correct, changes are possible and will be confirmed nearer to the trip after the race organizers have confirmed final instructions. All race rules and procedures need to be followed.
Time Limits: The course time limit is six hours from the last participant crossing the start line.
Eligibility & Participation Conditions: To take part in this event, the participant must have been born in 2007 or earlier for the 2026 edition.
Medical Certification/Health Prevention Course Form: To take part in this event, in order to receive your race number, you will be required to produce either a medical certificate or the health prevention course form. We have outlined both options below:

Our team will contact you, advise packages choices with prices and invite you to booking a specific package. At this stage you will need to select the correct number of rooms and types for all members in your party plus all the required extras. When you book, we will require a further deposit.

Security Policy
Marathon Tours & Travel’s security policy requires that anyone staying in our room block must be registered as part of our package. If a registered client attempts to house a non-registered guest and/or invite them to attend any of our scheduled activities, the registered guest’s tour package will be forfeited, and parties may be denied access to future tours. Please note that no exceptions will be made as this policy will be strictly enforced.
Eligibility
To take part in this event, the participant must have been born in 2006 or earlier. Therefore participants must be aged at least 20 years old on 31 December 2025.
